If you know one thing about me it's that I am a giant Greek mythology buff. Yes I know I've never mentioned it but I'm pretty sure you can tell just by looking into my eyes. They're so blue and dreamy. So the news that a film titled "Theseus" is in the works and will follow the zany antics of the warriors who battled and defeated (spoiler alert) the legendary minotaur has got me all in a tizzy. No real details are being released yet but Javor Gardev has already signed on to direct. Seriously check out my eyes sometime. You'll get lost in them.

I feel like I've written more about "The Exorcist" in the past month than I have my entire existence as a internet sensation. Granted I've only been the leader in internet content for about 2 years and during that time not much has happened so it kind of makes sense. So just to catch you up about a month ago a rumor was out that there was a tv show based on the film in the works. Then it came out that the show was BS but William Friedkin, who owns the rights to the story, was working on his own show. Now today he says that's actually crap too and the idea of a series based on an exorcism is awful. So now we're done with this. Until next week.

21 year old Matt Shively is the first name to be attached to "Paranormal Activity 4" which hits theaters on October 19th. He's reportedly playing the role of 'Alex' who I do not remember from any of the other films but honestly if I was forced at gun point to name anything other than "spooky ghost you can't see" I'd be dead right now.

Sigourney Weaver says James Cameron is going to shoot "Avatar 2" right along with 3 and 4 at the same time. In honor of this I will see those movies at the same time also. I'll set up 4 giant TV's, I'll toss in the original for good measure, and let the visuals blow my mind. I kid of course. I'm never going to watch those.

In Real People News:

Here's a story, with video, of a guy dressed as Elmo running around the central park zoo screaming antisemitic nonsense. Ya know, for the kids.

What the hell is K-2? I need someone to explain this to me because a guy in Texas was high on it when he attacked his neighbors and then killed and ate his dog. I wonder if you could take that before going on one of those Fear Factor shows. If you'd eat a entire dog I'm sure you'd down half a cow's brain and jump through fire.

I have no idea who Shaky Gonzalez is but dear lord his name is Shaky and every time I see it I read "skanky". So Skanky has a movie called "The Last Demonslayer" which is suppose to be a throw back to some of the great genre movies of the 80's. Chock full of medieval goodness and there's a bunch of new stills to get you fired up. Skanky... teehee.

In a recent interview Michelle Rodriguez, who I consider to be the expert on all things pure and holy, hinted that James Cameron's "Avatar 2" will take place under the sea. Of course her character died in the original but that's the magic of being under da sea! Darling it's better down where it's wetter take it from me! Little Mermaid? No one? Move along folks.

"Dylan Dog: Dead of Night" is a new horror/comedy that is apparently based on some sort of comic book that everyone loved. So you're probably excited about the first trailer that's hit the tubes. Or you're really upset about it because it doesn't stay true to the comic book. But remember this, hearing words and seeing moving pictures beats reading 100% of the time. That's just math folks.

ABC has cast Christopher Egan in the lead role in their upcoming series "Poe", based on Edgar Allan Poe. Egan has what appears to be baby soft skin and two delightful pools of dreaminess he calls eyes which from what I understand matches Poe to a T. I also believe I've said too much again. I regret nothing.

In Real People News:

It's nice when mothers and daughters do things together. Even if that thing is dragging a bus driver from the bus and beating the holy living hell out of her. Not going to lie, I'm getting a little misty just thinking about the beauty of it all.

A Newcastle student has been suspended for tea bagging his teachers tea. I hope he tried to talk his way out of the whole thing by saying he just thought you were suppose to do that and didn't know any better. It could work... never has for me but it could work...

Horror Headlines: Monday August 30th, 2010

Not content to rest on his laurels, Tom Six has already begun filming "Human Centipede: Full Sequence". Per Six, they plan to finish filming by December and have the film in the Sundance Film Festival by January.

Neil Marshall is going to take you out to eat for his next film "Underground" as he explores the world of cannibalism and exclusive supper clubs. With Marshall's track record, I'll just go ahead and assume this flick will be alright.

John Cusack's going to play a troubled writer! Glad to see he's trying something new, right? This time around, it's not just any old troubled writer; Cusack's been cast as Edgar Allen Poe in an upcoming biopic. Don't worry film makers, we can just forget about genre veteran Jefferey Coombs who's been playing Poe on stage for the last two years to critical accolades.

James Cameron thinks that movies like "Piranha 3D" cheapen the 3D medium he worked so hard to breath new life into. I'd like to remind Mr. Cameron that he's the reason every damn movie coming out lately is trying to shoehorn 3D into it's tag lines. That, and I guess he forgot directing the original 3D "Piranha" film?

In Real People News:

Paris Hilton was busted for coke possession in Las Vegas this past weekend. I guess all the Lindsday Lohan rehab news was stealing her thunder.

On this day in history:

1859 - At the University of Göttingen, PhD candidate Albert Niemann isolates the alkaloid C17H21NO4 from leaves of the plant Erythroxylum coca. Niemann names his white, powdery discovery "cocaine" and observes firsthand its peculiarly strong anesthetic effect: "it benumbs the nerves of the tongue, depriving it of feeling and taste."

Retro Trailer: "Piranha" (1978)

Rumor has it that the trailer for Alexandre Aja's "Piranha 3D" will be debuting tomorrow in front of prints of James Cameron's scifi epic "Avatar". Since no one has been privy to that preview yet, let's take a look at the trailer for the 1978 original, which at the time was attempting to cash in on the mega success of "Jaws" (1975).

Previewing the film before "Avatar" makes sense on some level, considering both films are wearing their "RealD" effects proudly. However, we prefer the funnier angle, that this is all somehow a jab at James Cameron, who cut his teeth as a feature film director on the set of "Piranha 2: The Spawning" (1982).
