Saw 3D

Horror Headlines: Friday November 19th, 2010

Here's a new one sheet for "Hobo With a Shotgun" for your viewing pleasure. I've officially run out of clever things to say about the film so just make up your own and imagine me saying it. I better have my pants on in your imagination though, I'm not into the sick crap.

People all over the world are going gaga for the new "Cowboys & Aliens" trailer and if you're not crapping your pants already you will be soon. The film stars James Bond as a cowboy who fights aliens. I think that's accurate. I don't know, a bunch of crap blows up.

Mexican aliens are so hot right now! Well alright let me be clear, I mean the little green men from outer space type aliens not the guys running across the border. We're still split 50/50 on those. Anyway here's the trailer "Night Without Sky", a new Mexican Alien invasion flick. See how that tied in?

Those of you who are fans of Chiller TV, and who isn't, will be happy to know that the channel will be counting down the decades scariest movie moments. Are you pumped? No?! Well it's a slow day so you'll take what I give you.

In Real People News:

A theater in Massachusetts accidentally showed "Saw 3D" instead of "Megamind" to a group of kids. The film was cut off rather quickly but not before the kids got an eyeful of some pretty fun killings. I'd guess there's a lot of people out there who had wished theaters had accidentally done the reverse when going to see "Saw 3D".

A man in Idaho has been jailed for impersonating a doctor at local bars. Namely a doctor who gives out free breast exams at bars. I don't know why anyone would trust a doctor who doesn't have a Female Body Inspector card though, come on people, think!

Tricks & Treats at the Box Office

"Saw 3D" trailer promises bodily harm to audience.

October 31st is not just a day for trick or treating, it's also a day to reflect on the year in horror. With Halloween at our backs and Thanksgiving in Christmas looming before us, there will be no more theatrical horror releases in 2010. Sure, we might have some big budget affairs, such as "Skyline," or indie horror releases, such as "Heartless," to look forward to, but as for things that go bump or monsters that prowl, the time for expectation is largely over.

Horror Headlines: Thursday October 21st, 2010

Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer are 100% confirmed to be the duo to bring the upcoming "Hellraiser" remake to life. If those names rings a bell you might recognize them as the pair that brought us all the "My Bloody Valentine" remake, and that was in 3D! So good news... right? Ah whatever.

Here's some new images from "Saw 3D" and they're chock full of trappy goodness. I'm also pretty sure they're full of spoiler goodness because when I see the film and I see the guy about to lose his hand and I think, "Gee I wonder if this guy is going to lose his hand" I'll remember, "Oh yeah he does, I saw it in the 75,000 images they released from the movie."

It's always sad when the last movie a famous actor makes before he dies turns out to be a pile of crap. So I was really worried when I watched the new trailer for the exorcism flick "The Rite" staring Anthony Hopkins. Then I realized that it was Dennis Hopper I was thinking of and Anthony Hopkins is still very much alive. So it doesn't really matter if the movie sucks or not. I can't tell you what a giant relief this is to me.

Jason Rothenberg, who's current writing credit is a TV movie I've never heard of, has been confirmed to write the upcoming "Twilight Zone" movie. I have nothing good or bad to say about this because I have no idea who he is. But you check back in a few months and I'll think of something, just you wait.

In Real People News:

So here's a 48.5 inch cat named Stewie from Reno Nevada. That makes him the worlds longest cat and also completely freaking disgusting. Congratulations Stewie.

1978 – Australian civilian pilot Frederick Valentich vanishes in a Cessna 182 over the Bass Strait south of Melbourne, after reporting contact with an unidentified aircraft.

Horror Headlines: Wednesday October 13th, 2010

Marc Abraham recently sat down to give some details on how he sees "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" going. Apparently they'll shy away from the rubber suit look which is good news for everyone who isn't into rubber suit play. You know who you are you kinky SOBs.

Le French trailer for le "Saw 3D" has been released and it features some new le clips. I can't imagine any of the scenes featuring Jigsaw drinking wine and eating cheese will be left in for the US release but who knows.

Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere recently popped up in some new set shots from "Scream 4". Honestly I pride myself on my sarcastic comments but really the funniest thing I can think of for this one is look at the second picture on the page and think "Duuuur!".

In Real People News:

Apparently there is something out there called the Commonwealth Games and it's a lot like the Olympics. That's not the fun news though, no the fun part is that the Commonwealth Games Village may not be ready to open due to a large number of flushed condoms that are clogging the sewers. See, you learned something and got a chuckle today.

1977 – Four Palestinians hijack Lufthansa Flight 181 to Somalia and demand release of 11 members of the Red Army Faction.

Horror Headlines: Thursday September 30th, 2010

Another 3D poster is available for your mind to be blown by for "Saw 3D" and this one has me a little confused. Are they saying that Jigsaw/John is some sort of Mega-Robot that's going to destroy us all? Man what an awesome twist that would be.

There's a new English sub-titled trailer for "Troll Hunter" available and I couldn't be more excited about it. Truth be told I didn't know the other trailers weren't in English but sometimes I get so excited about Trolls I black out. It happens.

There's a new trailer/interview with Dario Argento for his upcoming "Dracula 3D" out on the tubes. The thing kind of looks like his home videos from his summer trip to some spooky castles and by all accounts that may actually be true. I wonder if he hits Disneyworld, I'd love to see him on It's a Small World.

In Real People News:

It's like I'm looking into my future. A 3 year old's birthday party ended abruptly recently when a beer soaked brawl broke out. God I can't wait to ruin my kid's memories like this someday.

On this day in history:

1993 - A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck southern India, killing an estimated 10,000 people.

Horror Headlines: Thursday September 23rd, 2010

It's official kids, Rob Zombie's next film will be titled "The Lords of Salem". You want more info? The movie will apparently be about a group of 300 year old witches who wreak havoc on modern day Salem, Massachusetts. Maybe the witches will all have silly accents! Oh wait..

I think we may have talked about this months ago on the site but MTV has finally given David Harris' "Savage County" a release date. The drunk kids in the woods series will air on October 7th at 11PM on MTV2. Thank the cast of "The Jersey Shore" for putting away the condoms for a week in order for this to actually see the light of day.

And it wouldn't be a weekday without some new photos from "Saw 3D" coming online. Today we get to see Cary Elwes as Dr. Gordon and if you were at my house last night around 10:30 you would have seen me realize that's the same guy from the first one and blood shooting out of my temples from rage.

Well tickle my 9 year old self again because Corey Feldman recently dropped some good news that the original "The Lost Boys" will be screening at selected House of Blues locations around the country. Apparently the whole thing will be set up as a big event where fans can come dressed in costume and get a sneak peek of "Lost Boys: The Thirst". Get your greasy sax man outfit ready!

In Real People News:

A Hungarian man has found the face of Satan in his bathroom tile. Frightening yes but you have to admit Jesus has been hogging all the toast lately so it's about time the other side got his time in the spotlight.

On this day in history:

1993 - A barge strikes a railroad bridge near Mobile, Alabama, causing the deadliest train wreck in Amtrak history. 47 passengers are killed.

Horror Headlines: Tuesday September 21st, 2010

Still upset about Doug Bradley not playing Pinhead in the next Hellraiser film? Yeah I don't really give a crap either but apparently Stephan Smith Collins will be replacing Doug as Pinhead in the upcoming "Hellraiser: Revelations" flick. You might remember him from the cult classic "Come Fly with Me Nude" and if you do you should see someone about it.

Normally I am the most Gung-Ho USA person ever invented but today I am starting to think about moving. You see the Irish Film Classification Office has decided to ban the re-release of the 1978 film "I Spit on Your Grave". Any sort of country that would block that pile of turds from coming out must be some sort of magical wonderland.

Some new photos from this Halloween's "Saw 3D" have found their way online and they're pretty much what you'd expect. Honestly Ireland if you ban this one too I'll start packing up the apartment when I get home from work today.

In Real People News:

I'm pretty sure this is how they caught bad guys on "Scooby Doo". A robber in Lexington was arrested after a trail of coins led police to his house. And he would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for those meddling kids!

On this day in history:

1938 - A hurricane struck parts of New York and New England, causing widespread damage and claiming more than 600 lives

Trailer: "Saw 3D" Is Going to Murder Us All

If I'm to understand the new trailer for "Saw 3D" we're all going to get strapped into the theater and murdered when we go see the film this coming October. Guess what "Saw 3D" makers, I don't want that to happen. I want to see a movie, preferably not the one you're making. I don't want to pay 11 bucks for your 3D and get killed on top of that. The icing on the cake? I think I saw the guy from Linkin Park in there too. No thank you Saw people, no thank you indeed.

Horror Headlines: Tuesday August 24th, 2010

"Piranha 3D" didn't break any box office records this past weekend but a sequel has already been announced. Not a big surprise I guess but I am looking forward to seeing how they bring back Kelly Brook. What I mean is please bring back Kelly Brook... please!

If this memo is to be believed than it looks like we'll be seeing the teaser for "Scream 4" in theaters sometime this November. If it's fake a bunch of people will talk about how stupid all of us were for thinking it was real. One thing is for sure though, I have absolutely no desire to see "Scream 4"

Steven Spielberg along with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are planning on bringing Joe Hill's "Locke & Key" to the small screen in the near future. The comic book revolves around a couple of kids who watch over a old mansion filled with spooky doors that send them to different worlds and give them super powers. With so many people with classy sounding names attached to this there's no way it can't win.

Good news everyone! "Saw II" the video game will be available for your PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 19th. Alright I really have no idea if that is good news but it can't be any worse then "Saw 3D" coming out shortly after.
