Out promoting her upcoming movie "Avatar" that you may have heard of, Sigourney Weaver drops some possible plot bombs pertaining to "Ghostbusters 3". These are pretty juicy details, so I will leave them out of this post. If you're intrigued as to the future of Peter Venkman and Oscar the baby? Be sure to click through.

In Real People News:

A 23 year old man dies during an arrest and search by local police. It turns out, his the huge bag of weed that he tried to swallow didn't go down as easily as he thought it would.

A drunken Chinese boy mystifies doctors as he magically changes the channel on the television every time he rolls over. Further testing proved that the magic came from the remote control lodged in his anus.

Zach Galligan Stars In "Nightbeasts"

I'm not sure we could call "Nightbeasts" a "Shriek Of The Mutilated" remake but I don't think it would be unfair to call it a tribute. Sure the quality of the monsters has improved but the editing seems to not have gotten much better. Take a look at the trailer below and see for yourself.

Zach Galligan, AKA the guy from "Gremlins" stars as a father who's sets out on a weekend hunting trip with his son and runs into those darn sasquatches. Wes Sullivan, who worked for years as an animator for Disney wrote and directed "Nightbeasts".

The Horror of "The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson"

There is a reason that we do "Real People News" on the site everyday. There are things that exist in this world that are so bizarre and obscene that even the most creative writer couldn't do them justice. "The Junior Christian Science Bible Lesson" is one of those things.

Horror Headlines: Monday, August 24th, 2009

Due to the "shadowcast" phenomenon (think Rocky horror but with Goth kids), "Repo: The Genetic Opera" director Darren Lynn bousman has launched a website to keep the mythos going. He says this is a "life long project" for him, which I hope means they'll eventually do another version of the film, only this time not so terrible.

The release of "Zombieland" has been bumped up a week. You can now check out the Woody Harrelson zombie film on October 2nd.

"28 Weeks Later" director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is in talks to direct "Bioshock", the adaptation of the wildly popular videogame.

Todd Mcfarlane has officially started writing a new "Spawn" film. He says that it will be a standalone story, and he's shooting for an "R" rating.

The following is a "Rumble Trailer" for "The Final Destination" over at Break.com. Warning: the video does autoplay when you go there so watch those speakers at work. It's kind of a nifty little marketing thing though, so I recommend checking it out.

In Real People News:

Hmmm... turns out we really do need our appendix's. And when you find out why, you'll wish you still had yours!

I'm not even sure where to start with this story. A man from Iowa was arrested recently after repeating a joke from a "Seinfeld" episode. Great series, of course, but not so much topical. The kicker? he's not the first Iowan to be fired for an old "Seinfeld" joke. What, is it like 1995 there?

On this day in history:

1572: Troops loyal to the French crown alongside Catholic civilians massacre the Protestant Huguenots of Paris, estimates range between 20,000 and 100,000 deaths. At news of this carnage of this St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre, a gleeful Pope Gregory XIII ordered celebrations and a medal to be struck.

Meat-eating plant found in Philippines!

This BBC Story should be an interesting story about a new discovery in nature. But for me and probably anyone else who's watched a life time of horror and sci-fi... OH SHIT MEAT EATING PLANTS OH SHIT!!! Now that we've found them, how long before they rapidly evolve to eat US?

For Some Reason "Harper's Island" Is Coming To DVD

So I might be one of the fifteen people that actually watched “Harper’s Island” on CBS but nonetheless they have decided to put the entire mini-series out on DVD. Truth be told I only made it through about four weeks and didn’t even realize they had finished off the show until a couple weeks ago when I saw my DVR recording something on a Saturday night.

Banned "Left 4 Dead 2" Cover Isn't Very Exciting

If "Left 4 Dead 2" is anything, it will be bloody, violent, and a hell of a lot of fun. With all of the hooplah about its "rushed" release, I would have thought that the cover of the game would be the least of everyone's concern. Apparently, I was wrong.

At Valve's booth you saw one or two instances of the hand image shown in this picture of Chet Faliszeck, and the ring and pinky fingers have been completely bitten off. That's an image Valve claims the ESRB wouldn't allow for future marketing materials.

Horror Headlines: Tuesday May 5th, 2009

Just in time for the Region 1 DVD of "[REC]" to land this July, the official site for "[REC 2]" is live. Not a whole lot there at the moment, but with a planned October 9th release in Spain, you should see material popping up there periodically over the summer. We'll keep you informed if we hear anything.

Two new images from "The Pack", a pretty fantastic looking film about a pack of "bloodthirsty ghouls" in a snowy no-man's land, whose mother takes care of them, and feeds strangers to them. Good times.

The quality may appear slightly dubious, but boy does the word "Nunsploitation" catch my eye. Hey, I'm only human. The flick's called "Nun of That" (how clever), and there's more info and a trailer at the link.

"Doghouse" has the exact same plot as "Lesbian Vampire Killers", is also a horror film from the UK, and has a new quad poster that almost shows full-on cameltoe. For those keeping track at home, that last part there pretty much makes up for the rest of that story.

Here's a spoiler-filled, detailed plot description of what "Terminator 5" will be all about, from McG himself. Sounds pretty interesting, as long as you don't mind the minor spoilers.

In Real People News:

Apparently parents in Brooklyn had to be warned to not let their children eat raccoon shit recently. Yes, I said BROOKLYN, not some third world country. What the hell is going on there, anyway?

"The forbidden dance" has been banned in Pakistan for being too lude. Where's Kevin Bacon when you need him? I smell a sequel.

Government workers in China have been ordered to smoke nearly a quarter million packs of locally made cigarettes annually or be subjected to a fine. Can't make this stuff up, folks.
