Bill Mosely

Horror Headlines: Thursday January 6th, 2011

Liam Neeson is teaming up again with is "A-Team" director Joe Carnahan in "The Grey". Neeson seems to have a new found love for the horror genre, can he pull it off once again in this man vs. wolf thriller?

Bill Moseley seems like a natural fit for Charles Manson, so it's good to hear that Susanna Lo has cast him in her upcoming flick, "Manson Girls". Manson is pretty much a love child between Chop Top and Otis, so why not?

The first season of AMC's "The Walking Dead" was a rousing success and you'll be able to buy it for yourself in March. Start saving your pennies, the Blu-ray will run you $49, the DVD will go for $39.99.

Our first big awards show of 2011 has come and gone with last night's airing of The People's Choice Awards. This year the fans didn't give much love to the horror genre at all despite the addition of a 'Favorite Horror Movie' category. The first winner of this prestigious category? "A Nightmare on Elm Street". At least "Dexter" won for favorite TV obsession.

Sydney Prescott, author of a self help book is finishing up her book tour in her home town of Woodsboro when the Ghostface murders start up again. Such is the leaked plot synopsis included in the first round of "Scream 4" test screening invitations.

In Real People News:

The following is a warning from the Calvert County Sheriff's Department: there is a rogue Emu on the loose. Should you see the animal in your yard, do not approach. The animal is to be considered a wild freaking animal and it will claw the shit out of you.

An 11 year old New Jersey child is going to court for writing her name in cement, yet the "Jersey Shore" cast still walks free. I ask you, is this justice?

On this day in history:

1982 - William G Bonin, the truck driving "Freeway Killer", convicted in Los Angeles. He had murdered 14 boys and young men.

Horror Headlines: Thursday December 2nd, 2010

I have no idea if this is a surprise or news at all, but a sixth season of "Dexter" has been confirmed. In related news the sun will in fact rise tomorrow and I will still not have clean underthings.

If I have to explain to you what "Mega Shark vs. Crocosaurus" is about then I don't think we can be friends anymore. All you need to know is it hits DVD on December 21st and there's a new trailer for it. Oh and you should probably know that I want to see other people too, but that doesn't have anything to do with the movie.

This on the other hand is very much news. September 16, 2011 will be the most magical day ever because "Piranha 3DD" will hit theaters. We should all go camp outside the theater now so we can get the first tickets.

Bill Moseley and Civil War horror movies go together like sex and peanut butter. That's a fact. So here's some new pictures of him and the rest of the gang in "Exit Humanity". Of course the movie was filmed in Toronto so maybe this is some other Civil War they had over maple syrup something. Beats me.

In Real People News:

A Pennsylvania man has been jailed after getting all loopy on a mixture of prescription pills and alcohol and beating the crap out of his roommate. Why did he do this? Well he was so high that he thought he was a Jedi Master of course.

If you can rob a gas station with a 3 foot long tree branch you shouldn't have to face any prison time. That's a fact and I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in the constitution right next to "being awesome" is a perfectly good reason for driving drunk. I love freedom.

Horror Headlines: Thursday October 22, 2009

Director Tim Sullivan has had a busy news day. Not only has he announced that the sequel to his "2001 Maniacs" remake has the new title of "2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams", he has also released three new pictures from the movie. The most important items of note is that Robert Englund has been replaced by Bill Mosely, and Christa Campbell in a milkmaid costume.

In quite possibly the oddest news of the day, The Weather Channel has announced it will be adding movies to its channel lineup. Starting out with a showing of "A Perfect Storm" on Oct. 30th, the lineup shows that it will be a weekly string of weather themed movies. Most notable to us horror fans is Stephen King's "Misery", because of the snow.

From the unexpected and unwanted reboot desk comes word that a script for a new "Crow" movie has been turned in and the studios dig it. Written by Stepehn Norrington who helmed "Blade", the movie is said to not be a remake but a whole new character.

Dread Central has posted a slew of new "Stan Helsing" clips, and I still remain unexcited!

In Real People News:

An alternative Denver newspaper is hiring a new reviewer. In particular, they're looking for a writer to review the state marijuana dispenseries and their products. Good luck getting them to meet deadlines.

The King lives on through expensive hair. Elvis' hair, chopped from his head upon his enlistment to the US Army, fetches $15k from a recent auction. Someday, the hair that's quickly making its exit from my own scalp will make me rich.

On this day in history:

1836 – Sam Houston is inaugurated as the first President of the Republic of Texas.

The DVD Bargain Bin

A collection of five spooky shorts, Beneath the Flesh dubs itself as "Kafka meets Lynch meets Burroughs via Cronenberg." That seems pretty generous but we'll see.
