Miramax is pushing the release date of Guillermo del Toro's "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" to sometime in January because of changes in ownership at the company. Normally I'd say this means the film is going to be a pile of doodie but it looks awesome so I'm confused. What does it all mean, Hollywood?!

Jamie Kennedy is going to be producing a horror/comedy currently titled "Granny". There's even a promo clip already made for the flick and it was created over a couple hours in a grocery store parking lot. So there's the quality we're shooting for folks.

For those of you across the pond The Prince Charles Cinema will be screening the critically acclaimed film "Big Tits Zombie". What's better is if you dress up as a "Big Tit Zombie" you'll get in free. Everyone else you're going to have to pay your own way.

Finally, for those of you in the NYC area or who are just a fan of good things in general the NYC Village Halloween Parade needs your help. The organizers are looking for donations to help keep the parade alive and if you don't donate you're pretty much saying you hate Halloween. Is that what you want me to think?

The 3-D craze has donned its leather jacket and pointed its motorcycle towards the ramp as Paramount Pictures has announced plans to make a new "Ring" movie, this time in 3-D. David Loucka has already been tapped to pen the script in what Paramount hopes is a reinvention of the franchise.

"Scream" scribe Kevin Williamson put to rest the rumors that Jamie Kennedy will be returning for "Scream IV". "We're not that universe where you can bring people back from the dead. That would be just a cheat." Good to see that there's still some integrity in Hollywood!

While not really news in and of its self, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for this sweet "Nightmare on Elm Street" popcorn bucket when you head out to catch the remake this weekend!

In a recent press junket for his latest feature "Robin Hood", director Ridley Scott let slip that the both of the upcoming "Alien" prequels will be released in 3D. If you're paying attention, you'll notice that I used the word 'both'. Scott also let it be known that he is planning on two prequels for the franchise.

"Machete" is no longer the only feature to spawn from the fake trailers shown in 2007's "Grindhouse". The next trailer to be stretched to full length will be "Hobo With a Shotgun" starring none other that Rutger Hauer.

Everybody's been talking about the upcoming "Scream IV". With the original creative team involved, it has the potential to be good. Things could be taking a turn for the odd however as sources say they are now in talks to bring Jamie Kennedy back for the reunion. As for how, nobody is certain yet. Could he be a zombie? An evil twin? At this point in the game, he could easily play his original character Randy's chubbier dad!

While still firmly in the 'non-news' category, original "Jaws" producer Richard Zanuck still has a few words to say that might make your stomachs turn. In a recent L.A. Times article, Zanuck talks about how he and Spielberg met a few years back about bringing the original film back to theaters with updates effects and tacked on 3D graphics. Sadly, Zanuck still thinks this would be a great idea.

Kevin Smith is finally getting around to working on his long talked about "Red State" horror feature. Recently, he sat down with the folks at Film School Rejects to discuss a few details about the film. Likening the plot and feel of the movie to that of "Race With the Devil", a 1975 film about cultists chasing hapless tourists, he promises you can replace the devil worshipers with christian fundamentalists!
