12 Movies for your Halloween Movie Marathon

Movie marathons are tricky business. Equal parts foresight, improvisation, impulse decision-making, and nostalgia that you really don’t have all that much control over in the long run. You can plan ahead all you want but the energy of a room can turn a slow-burn pee-pants fest into annoying background noise in no time. Add a holiday on top of things, say for example Halloween, and you got more problems than that Jay-Z character.

Every fall, I dig out some of my favorite horror movies that only feel right to watch around the Halloween season. If you've been following my blog, you know that I absolutely love, love, love, horror anthologies. One of my favorites, that comes out of my Halloween Horror Arsenal every year is the 1982 horror fan favorite "Creepshow." With the tagline: "the most fun you'll ever have being scared," how can you go wrong?!

It goes without saying that "Creepshow" is one of the most popular horror anthologies around. It's definitely one of my go-to movies for the Halloween season. Director George A. Romero and writer Stephen King bring us 5 tales of terror in a tribute to the EC comics of the 1950's. The segments are tied together by short animated sequences surrounding a young boy named Billy (Stephen's son, Joe King) who is punished by his father (Tom Atkins) for reading horror comics. Many familiar faces such as Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, Adrienne Barbeau, Ed Harris, E.G.
