Movie marathons are tricky business. Equal parts foresight, improvisation, impulse decision-making, and nostalgia that you really don’t have all that much control over in the long run. You can plan ahead all you want but the energy of a room can turn a slow-burn pee-pants fest into annoying background noise in no time. Add a holiday on top of things, say for example Halloween, and you got more problems than that Jay-Z character.

Every fall, I dig out some of my favorite horror movies that only feel right to watch around the Halloween season. If you've been following my blog, you know that I absolutely love, love, love, horror anthologies.

It goes without saying that "Creepshow" is one of the most popular horror anthologies around. It's definitely one of my go-to movies for the Halloween season. Director George A. Romero and writer Stephen King bring us 5 tales of terror in a tribute to the EC comics of the 1950's.
