The original Bioshock game was applauded for sticking to its strengths as a heavily story based single player game. Even though 2K plans to stick with those strengths with Bioshock 2, it will feature extensive multiplayer gameplay. Thanks to Kotaku, there are now some vague, yet intriguing details.
Speaking of experience, players will gain experience as they play through the multiplayer portions of the game, earning them access to new plasmids and tonics. With hundreds of different combinations available, players will be able to develop their own particular play style, which should lead to some very interesting battles.
The idea of plasmid deathmatches sounds pretty damn tantalizing to me, but some of the diehard fans of the franchise are not so pleased, citing a departure from what made the series great (story, single player, etc.). Although, I'm not sure what all of the fuss is about if it has no effect on the single player gameplay. I'm sure many of these malcontents will come around when they are having Big Daddy drill parties, but until then, let them continue to turn the gears the Internet with their unadulterated speculation.
