With E3 off and running this week, we're getting a ton of new game announcements. We've known that Guitar Hero 5 has been in the works for a while, but we now have some information on some of the music that will be featured. Unfortunately, they didn’t announce the songs specifically, but instead a giant list of bands has made its way online. This leaves me with more questions then answers though. Sure you can guess that the Queen/David Bowie song will be "Under Pressure", but what about Elton John? Will it be "Tiny Dancer" or "Benny and the Jets"? What the hell is Bob Dylan doing there? And what the crap is a Vampire Weekend?
I think I’m most exited to see a strong showing of some of my favorite metal bands. The Bronx, Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Darkest Hour are all on the list. Not to mention some of my guilty pleasures, I’m looking at you Wild Cherry.
I’m sure we’ll see more info released soon but in the meantime you can see a full list of bands that will be included in the game below. Guitar Hero 5 is currently set for September 1st for the Xbox 360, Wii, PS3 and PS2.
