"Cursed Mountain" Coming to Wii

On August 25th, the Nintendo Wii will be getting another dose of grown up horror gaming with the release of Cursed Mountain.

Step back into the 1980's and into the shoes of a fearless mountaineer. Climbing the Himalayas, he's on the search for his lost brother. Along his climb he encounters many a horror as a curse has taken over the region. Facing souls trapped in limbo, ghosts, demons and nightmare visions, you get to be the one to help him tackle the journey.

"AAA: El Videojuego", Best News I've Heard all Day

For whatever reason, I haven't bought a non-XBLA game in months. It could be the fact that it's the summer (yeah right), but it's more likely the fact that nothing has particularly tickled my fancy of late. Apparently, someone was listening to my fanboy longings, as the virtually unknown publisher Slang has announced and demoed "AAA: El Videojuego," a wrestling game based on the popular lucha libre promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración (AAA), which houses many familiar faces from the lucha bouts on WCW Monday Nitro in the 90's, and more recently, TNA.

"Ghostbusters" Video Game Mini-Review

The video game world has been abuzz this week with the release of the "Ghostbusters" video game, and the buzz is good. Thanks to a pretty awesome daughter, I got my own copy for Father's Day! After a good six hours spent busting ghosts (it really does make you feel good, fyi), I'm proud to report that the early twinges of excitement and hype that was felt back when the game was first announced are all justified.

Guitar Hero 5 Band List Announced

With E3 off and running this week, we're getting a ton of new game announcements. We've known that Guitar Hero 5 has been in the works for a while, but we now have some information on some of the music that will be featured. Unfortunately, they didn’t announce the songs specifically, but instead a giant list of bands has made its way online. This leaves me with more questions then answers though. Sure you can guess that the Queen/David Bowie song will be "Under Pressure", but what about Elton John? Will it be "Tiny Dancer" or "Benny and the Jets"? What the hell is Bob Dylan doing there?

Ju-On: The Grudge (Wii) gets a US Release Date!

I reported some weeks ago about the upcoming "interactive haunted house" game for the Wii based on Ju-On (The Grudge), noting that a US release was unconfirmed. Well, that all changed as the now titled "Ju-On: The Grudge" is slated for release stateside this October. Included in the press release are some general details about the projects release including a bit more insight into the game play.

"Ju-On" Game Trailer is Creepy, Kinda

As far as I know, the upcoming "Ju-On (Grudge)" game for the Wii is Japan-only, but this trailer is certainly worth a look.

First Look: Ghostbusters Game Opening Cinematic

Ghostbusters "Slimer Edition" is Gonna Cost Ya

Recent trailers for the upcoming "Ghostbusters" game have definitely planted the seeds of curiosity if not full-on fanboy excitement. As someone who (naively) paid $80 for the Spore "Galactic Edition," I wouldn't be averse to shelling out some extra dough for the special "Slimer Edition" package of the game if it looks promising enough. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that anything short of the second coming of "WWF No Mercy" for N64 would prompt me to drop $129.99 on anything game related that isn't another console entirely. The package itself sounds pretty cool, but the price, not so much.

House of the Dead "F***s" Game Records

I remember being shocked to hear the word "shit" in "Final Fantasy VII" once upon a time, and needless to say, things have changed. Most mainstream M-rated video games these days should be packaged with a bar of soap to wash their mouths out with. Despite this, some games let their "f**k" flag fly so high that people can't help but take notice, even the people at The Guinness Book of World Records.

MadWorld (Wii) Reviews are In!

Generally, I would shy away from posting other people's reviews, but "MadWorld" is a special case. You see, it was only released for that system I love to play at a friends house but can't convince myself that it's worth buying, despite my desire to perfect my balancing on a plastic platform skills. Since its release a few days ago, the mega-ultraviolent beat-em-up "MadWorld" has seemed to live up to the hype.
