Trailers: Red band "Sinister" trailer is Ethan Hawkey

I shudder at the thought of having to watch another possession / demon / ghost movie this year, but then a film like "Sinister" comes along with its spooky trailers and makes me doubt myself. This is a new "Red Band" trailer for the film, which this gem of a Youtube commenter describes nicely...

"i like when that red screen pop up at the beginning of a movie. It means the business is gonna be serious"

Couldn't have said it better myself. "Sinister" hits theaters October 12th.

Trailers: "Branded" looks good if you can ignore the QR codes

"Branded" is a classic case of the marketing department refusing to get out of the way of its material. Here you have what looks like an intensely weird film skewering consumer culture and the mind-control game of advertising. Think "Wall-E" meets "They Live" (no, seriously). Instead of letting the trailer speak for itself, they've decided to make a marketing campaign featuring over 100 QR codes that will lead you, presumably?... to clips and screenshots. It's 2010's greatest idea.

Trailers: Danielle Harris' "Among Friends"

With recent rumbling's that Danielle Harris' directorial debut "Among Friends" may be starting to see the light of day, I thought we'd take a look at the teaser trailer that was released. The film, which is described as a horror movie, with dark comedy elements, about a dinner party gone wrong. Set against an 80's backdrop, good times take a dark turn when one in the group hijacks the evening in the name of integrity. Through an attempt to help the others come clean about secret betrayals against one another, it’s revealed who's willing to cut through the bone to expose the truth.

Trailers: Check out Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows"!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, get your hate machine's running! It's time to comment on the trailer for Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows"!

It's creepy and it's kooky, and all together spooky, it's A..."Dark Shadows" movie. Not what I was expecting from the project at all. But I must admit; I kind of like this trailer. It could be entertaining, but if Tim Burton thinks this is the essence of the original show... he's high.

Oh yah, I'm biased; I love me some Helena Bonham Carter and I think she looks great in orange. I'm just going to get that out of the way here and now.

Trailers: "Break" is the German version of "rednecks in the woods"

I've seen this movie probably 50 times, the old "rednecks hunt innocent city folk in the woods" thing, but never from a German production company.

I read an interesting article once about the German people's obsession with crap. Like, poop-crap. Apparently their cultural lore and sayings are riddled with references to poop, both in positive and negative ways. Not sure what that says but ya, 99% sure there's going to be some poop in this movie. So there's that.

Trailers: "Devil in My Ride" sprang from my brain

I have literally wanted this to happen at every wedding I've ever been to. Sid Haig usually isn't there, but I agree with the filmmakers that it makes the fantasy even better. "Devil in My Ride" is hitting the festival circuit this summer.

Trailers: "Piranha 3DD" Is Everything You Could Want and More

The trailer for "Piranha 3DD" is finally here and I can't say there's any surprises in it but there's also everything you could possibly want. Lots of boobs, blood and over the top 3D are here for your viewing pleasure. There's also Ving Rhames with gun-legs and David Hasselhoff being kind of a prick. I feel like those last two things should have been some sort of surprise to me and everyone else. But they aren't. These are strange times we live in my friends.

Trailers: "Inbreds" looks Britishy

Not sure if the fact that this is British is enough to make up for the fact that I've seen this movie a few dozen times by other names. Still, the trailer had me by the end. No solid release info yet but "Inbred" is a current selection at the UK's annual Fright Fest.

Trailers: "Camel Spiders" will haunt your dreams

Camel Spiders are the most terrifying things on earth... that's a fact. I doubt the movie "Camel Spiders" will be nearly as scary as the real thing, but it sure looks like damn fun. Unlike clicking on that Google link in the first sentence. That will ruin your day real quick.

Trailers: "Lights Over Phoenix", cool, not real...

The "Phoenix Lights" are an actual phenomena witnessed in 1997 by hundreds of people. It's a cool story, that you should definitely Google... when you have a few hours of your life you want to disappear.
