little shop of horrors

The movie adaptation of the off Broadway hit musical has made it's way up the cult classic ladder over the years, but even die hard fans are in for a treat with the recent release of the Blu-ray director's cut which features the original ending to the film. The movie, which around a nerdy florist whose life begins looking up with the help of a man eating plant from outer space, originally had a much bleaker ending than what appeared in the theatrical release. The original ending was scrapped completely after test audiences complained about the negative ending.

I have no idea what a man is doing with the name "Kit" but "Game of Thrones" is awesome so I'm going to give Kit Harington a pass. I will however not give him a pass for signing on to a new exoticism flick titled "The Seventh Son". I will though give him a pass for being in an exoticism movie where Jeff Bridges plays the guy who trains old Kit on the art of driving out demons, catching witches and stopping boggarts. Confused? Me too man, me too.

Jack O'Connell, now that's a man's name. I've never seen a movie the guy has been in but I assume they're all about cutting down timber and drinking beer. Lucky for Alice Englert because they've both joined the cast of "Beautiful Creatures", a new supernatural thriller about two southern teens who uncover strange secrets about each other's families. Just say the name, O'Connell. Do you suddenly smell maple syrup too?

WWE hot boy David Bautista has been confirmed to be joing Vin Diesel in the upcoming flick "The Chronicles of Riddick: Dead Man Stalking". No word yet on what WWE's golden god will be doing in the film but my guess is he'll probably fight people and have very few lines of dialog. Maybe even Vin Diesel. God I can't wait to find out. I have no idea what a "WWE hot boy" is.

I have no idea why you'd need "Plan 9 From Outer Space" on Blu-Ray but the cult classic, along with 1960's "Little Shop Of Horrors" (the one without singing) will hit shelves on March 9th, just in time for Middle Name Pride Day. So.. umm... how about them Giants?

One of the stars of "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", Thomas Dekker has signed on to co-star in Platinum Dunes' "A Nightmare on Elm St." remake. A self described horror fan, Dekker will share on screen time with the other male lead, Kyle Gallner from "The Haunting in Connecticut".

New UK quad for Sam Raimi's "Drag Me To Hell", revamped with lots of shiny new pull-quotes. Not sure I feel good about the biggest one being "Ain't It Cool News" (does anyone really read that site?), but it seems that the buzz is starting out good nonetheless. The film hits theaters May 29th.

New pic from "H2", showing Myers stabbing the crap out of someone in what appears to be a hospital. Zombie has said that only a brief portion of the film will take place in the hospital, and that it will not be a direct remake of 1981's "Halloween II".

I know we shouldn't encourage the guys over at Asylum, known for their terrible, awful little movies with blatantly ripped-off titles, but I just can't help it. Here's the teaser trailer for "The Terminators", which hits DVD April 28th.

"Wrong Turn 3" director Declan O'brien to remake "Little Shop of Horrors", with help from "Bourne" producer. Nope, not making that up. He also says he'll be "taking it in a different direction". Not sure what that means, but feel free to speculate wildly in the comments.

Patrick Tatopoulos to direct adaptation of the forthcoming comic book "I, Frankenstein". The story shows old school monsters who have evolved and are living in a modern film-noir setting.
