Horror Headlines: Monday September 13th, 2010

In a bit of sad news, veteran character actor Kevin McCarthy passed away at the age 96. You'll recognize McCarthy from many iconic genre movies such as "Piranha", "Twilight Zone: The Movie", "Invasion of the Body Snatches" and many many more.

Despite the fact that filming is nearly complete, Wes Craven has added "Friday Night Lights" star Amber Teagarden to the cast of "Scream IV". They also released a few images from the movie that proves that there will be blood this time around. You know, in case you were wondering if a "Scream" movie was going to be bloody or not.

The movie's been delayed for so long that most people have forgotten about it by now. Despite that, there is a new 33 second clip of Jennifer Lynch's "Hisss" online. It's kind of nice to see practical effects showing up in this day and age.

In Real People News:

A Kentucky man goes nuts and kills his wife and step-daughter plus 3 neighbors, all before turning the gun on himself in a recent trailer park rampage. Witnesses say that his rage started that morning when his wife failed to cook his eggs the way he liked.

On this day in history:

1916 - Mary the circus elephant is publicly executed in the Erwin, Tennessee railyard, after killing a drifter named Red Eldridge the previous day. The five-ton animal is hung from a derrick car in front of 3,000 onlookers, and left there for half an hour.
