Horror Headlines: Wednesday June 17th, 2009

Fred Dekker may be interested in doing a sequel to "Night of the Creeps". Now if it were just 1989, this would be the greatest news ever.

Ti West to get behind the camera for "The Haunting in Georgia", which is purportedly a sequel by the same company who produced "The Haunting in Connecticut", which went on to be distributed by Lions Gate. Universal is still very much moving ahead with a "Bride of Frankenstein" remake. Uni's in talks with Neil Burger to write and direct, director of 2006's "The Illusionist".

In Real People News:

Man tries to kill himself by attaching a sword to his steering wheel and running into a wall. Apparently the airbag foiled his plans. I guess there are no tall buildings where he lives?

On this day in history:

1939: In Versailles, Eugene Weidmann becomes the last person to be publicly guillotined.
