Horror Headlines: Tuesday January 6th, 2009

Sam Raimi's new reality show starts tomorrow (Wednesday January 7th) on the CW. I think I'll quote our writer Casey for the description... "It looks silly!"

A whole buttload of new stills from "The Descent 2", which is of course going on ahead despite the lack of Niel Marshall participation. I still don't have a ton of hope for this, but these stills are not bad. Not bad at all.

Sony Screen Gems is "auditioning" writers for a Direct to DVD "Hostel" sequel. Wow, I literally like nothing about that sentence.

This trailer for "[REC] 2" seems to be coming from nowhere... Although that could be because people are questioning its authenticity. I do know that there is a sequel in production, and that the original directors are returning. Any thoughts from those who have seen the original?

The director of "Horton Hears a Who" has been tapped to direct the "Jonah Hex" adaptation. I'll give you a moment to pick your brains up off the floor.

Here's a promo trailer for George Romero's new zombie film. Surprise! It's actually cheaper and stupider looking than "Diary of the Dead". I don't know how he does it, but he's still got that magic touch!

In Real People News:

Still don't think that steroids shrink your balls? Just ask this former LA Rams Defensive linemen who took steroids for 20 years. And you think the condom conversation is awkward... just wait until you have to explain why your man-bits look like a movie theater hot dog.

Parents today aren't reading their children classic fairytales for fear of damaging their children. Jesus people, I grew up in the 80's and 90's and even I wasn't this much of a pansy. Reading about your grandmother getting eaten by a wolf is called "character building".

This Arab executioner really likes his job. And who can blame him, with the shit they put you to death for over there, he's got the safest job imaginable in this economy.

On this day in history:

1994: Figure skater Nancy Kerrigan is struck in the knees by a man in Detroit with a collapsible baton. It is later determined that her one of her rivals Tonya Harding and her boyfriend were responsible.
