I was a pretty big fan of Michael and Peter Spierig's over-the-top 2003 horror/comedy "Undead" back in the day, going as far as to import a relatively expensive Region 4 DVD long before it arrived on American shores. Yeah, sometimes I can be pretty pathetic like that. And while I do believe the film had its share of problems, the good points, in this geek's humble opinion, greatly outweighed the bad. Besides, it's not everyday you get to watch an gun-crazy Australian redneck battle a flesh-eating zombie fish. I'm just saying.

The closer it's release date gets, the more excited I am to check out "Kiss of the Dragon" director Chris Nahon's upcoming Japanese schoolgirl samurai flick "Blood: The Last Vampire." There's a very good possibility that I'll be able to catch this stylish action/horror hybrid during its limited theatrical run starting on July 10th, so be sure to pop around the site to see if the film is as good as all of these recently-released clips make it out to be. Monsters, swordplay, martial arts, over-the-top choreography -- how could it go wrong?

Don't answer that.

Pop Quiz! You’re significant other just got shit canned from their job and you are now faced with having to figure out how to pay bills that you already can’t afford. A guy shows up at your door with a wooden box that contains a button. If you push that button you’ll be given one millions dollars but someone you’ve never met somewhere will die. Would you push the button? Of course you would, I’d slam that thing before he even showed me the money. Done, movie over.

Zac Efron has signed on to do a thriller for Mandate Pictuers, from the writer who brought you "Hairspray". You know what, that's just too easy.

The "Sorority Row" remake gets moved up, from October 2nd to September 11th.

The trailer for Richard Kelly's "The Box" has finally landed. This actually looks really solid considering it's been pushed back so many times. But opening opposite "Saw"? Really? Sort of sounds like giving it an excuse to fail to me.

The trailer for Woody Harrelson's epic zombie romp "Zombieland" hit the web tonight. Sure it looks a lot like "Shaun of the Dead 2", but I can't lie, I'm totally sold on this hot mess. Leave that feedback in the comments, friends.

The trailer for the new Kate Beckinsale film “Whiteout” has finally hit the web and from the looks of things is shaping up to be pretty enjoyable. The basic story revolves around a U.S. Marshal played by Beckinsale who is sent to track a killer in the most remote part of Antarctica. Only problem is the sun is about to set for six months and the weather conditions are about the worst you could imagine.

The trailer for the remake of "The Stepfather" is now online! While it looks like fairly standard thriller fare, Dylan Walsh looks to make good use of his crazy step-dad role! What do you guys think?

"The Stepfather" is expected in theater's October 16th, 2009.

Produced by the snappy individuals responsible for both "The Orphange" and "Pan's Labyrinth," Stefano Bessoni's upcoming horror/thriller "Imago Mortis" is shaping up to be the sort of picture I'd like to see. What's more, it's scripted by one of the fine fellows behind Jaume Balaguero's outstanding "[Rec]," which is, of course, grossly superior to its US counterpart. Unfortunately, the trailer currently making the rounds for "Imago Mortis" isn't in English, but the imagery alone is enough to get the blood pumping.

Here's the synopsis from IMDb:

It dawned on me today what that HBO show “Big Love” is missing: Zombies! I had this revelation while watching the trailer for the film “The Book Of Zombie”. Get it? Revelation? Nevermind.
