BGH Classic Pack - Rain-Fights Extravaganza

There's a certain member of the podcast who manages to get his panties in a bunch anytime a character throws a punch amid a light summer's mist. Or any time a bullet flies throw a steady downpour. Yes, there is a man who knows what he likes, and what he likes is a good ol' fashioned rain-fight.

Horror Headlines: Monday, February 13th, 2012

Hey did you watch The Grammy's last night? I didn't But I did take time to view some of the red carpet fashions and if you're wondering these are my scores. B+, C, D-, B-, C, C, F, and F. Yeah I know, I hate Adele too. Especially after reading her tour rider which stated "North American beer is not acceptable". Apparently she only accepts the "best quality European lager beers" like Stella and Peroni to wash her bite size Twix bars down her giant gullet. More for me, Adele! More for me!

Just to confirm a discussion we never had, Ridley Scott has been confirmed to be taking the directing role for "The Counselor". Written by Cormac McCarthy, the film follows a respected lawyer who tries his hand at the drug game... with sexy results. Wait no, terrible, not sexy. Not sexy at all.

If you're looking for more "The Evil Dead" casting news then this is going to be the best Monday of your life. Looks like Lou Taylor Pucci, who I don't know but only hate 1/3 of his name, is in talks to join the reboot. Lou would play a young smarty pants who's curiosity gets the gang into trouble. Whatever the hell that means. Pucci is the part of the name I hate in case you're wondering.

Looks like Universal is circling first time director Gary Shore to take on their new film "Dracula Year Zero". Russell Crowe is in talks to star in the film that tells the original story of Vlad the Impaler and how he eventually was turned into the character that Bram Stoker based is classic character on. Not really fair to pick a first time director. How am I suppose to make stupid comments about a guy I don't know? I bet he wears stupid hats.

Remember 2009's "Legion" about an Angel who comes down from the heavens to save the world? Well Syfy is working on a show based on the film. Cause ya know, everyone loved it. Alright I loved it. I can't even be sarcastic about how much I love it. An old lady swears a lot. How can you not love that?

In Real People News:

I know I write that these stories make me laugh a lot but this one really did make me laugh out loud. A Kentucky mother punched her 10 year old son in the face during an anger management session. Try to read that without chuckling. It's impossible.

This story about a 40 year old in Ohio who tossed his kid into a dryer as punishment isn't as funny though. Unless you're a real sicko. Then feel free to laugh away in hell.

Horror Headlines: Monday January 25th, 2009

Want to kick off your Monday with some exciting rumors? How about the rumblings that there may be a 3-D "Gremlins" in our future?

A bidding war broke out over Robert Rodirguez directed "Machete" over the weekend with 20th Century Fox winning the battle... in the process, they've also locked up the rights to Rodriguez's future work.

New images from the upcoming "Piranha 3-D" have shown up online and they're suitably gruesome. Just a fair warning, mangled mammaries ahead!

Now that "Legion" has hit theaters, director Scott Stewart sits down to talk about his next Paul Bettany starring movie, "Priest". Let's hope it's more interesting than his last one.

In Real People News:

A cable TV exec charged with beheading his wife last year has come up with the clever defense that he cut her head off because she was mean to him.

A Chino Valley man has broken his parole by sexually assaulting his neighbor's dog. Might as well go out in style, I guess.

On this day in history:

1947 - Al Capone dies in Florida, suffering from dementia caused by a long untreated case of syphilis.

Snapshot: "Legion's" "Grindhouse" connection.

Kurt Russel poses as "Stuntman Mike" in this promotional still for Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof", one half of 2007's "Grindhouse". "Legion", in theaters tomorrow, is directed by Scott Stewart, whose resume boasts uncredited effects work on the double feature. "Legion" is Stewart's directorial debut, which hits US theaters tomorrow. Synopsis after the jump.

Video: Another Clip From "Legion"

Another day, another clip from "Legion". At this point I'm pretty sure you could piece the entire film together with the amount of clips they've put out but I've still got hope for this one. The new snippet you can check out below for instance has a pretty good little freak-out at the end. I mean you have to put in your date of birth, so you know it's going to be good. Take a look for yourself and check out "Legion" when it hits theaters on January 22nd.

Horror Headlines: Monday January 11th, 2009

IFC has picked up the North American distribution rights to Tom Six's twisted horror/thriller "The Human Centipede (First Sequence)." Is it weird that I really want to see this one? Probably.

Fans of the After Dark Horrorfest will be pleased to hear that Chris Moore's upcoming horror/thriller "Kill Theory" is the latest film to be added to the lineup. Call me crazy, but this year's selection seems a little stronger.

Legendary filmmaker and horror icon John Carpenter sits down to discuss his latest genre offering "The Ward." The interview is lengthy, so make sure you've got plenty of time on your hands.

In Real People News:

A Melbourne, Australia warehouse employee was crushed after a 200-kilogram pallet filled with computer equipment fell on him. CTRL-ALT-DEL failed to reboot his system.

A recent scientific study revealed that watching TV can increase your risk of heart disease by 18-percent Guess what? I'm screwed.

Video: New Angel Fight Clip From "Legion"

If you're going to watch the movie "Legion" you're going to have to accept the fact that the action is going to be a little ridiculous. Case in point is the new clip from the film which you can check out below. Yes it's kind of funny watching a guy with wings flutter around a greasy spoon with a giant metal mallet, but who am I to judge. If you can get over the ballet-like fight scene it still looks pretty bad ass. I'm keeping my hopes up on this one.

The Angels are Coming in "Legion" Trailer

This red-band trailer for the Biblical apocalypse film "Legion" feels really fresh and exciting to me, despite having many echoes of other films. The plot isn't exactly clear, but it looks like the Archangel Michael has escaped Heaven to track down the one child who can somehow save humanity. The problem? All the other angels (and a few plagues, from the look of it) have killed and possessed many humans and are trying to exterminate the human race, waitress and baby-savior included! I haven't seen Biblical horror done as well as this looks in a while.
