The Nuclear Edge - Brasil Heavy Metal

This caught my eye, so I thought I'd pass it along.

There's no exact release date yet, but at some point later in the year, a DVD entitled "Brasil Heavy Metal" will be released, chronicling the evolution of heavy metal in Brazil from the mid 1980's to the present. Certainly, it stands to reason that the documentary will prominently feature Sepultura, but it is reported to have over fifty other interviews with various metal figures. I'm assuming that this will be released in Portugeuse, but I'm hoping there are subtitles of some sort. Also expect to see South American mainstays like Cerbero, Vulcano and Korzus. I'll keep an eye out for it.

In other brief news:

-Dragonforce, one of the most divisive bands among metal fans going today, is announcing dates for their North American tour. They're coming to my town, I'm on the fence about attending or not. Tickets are just a little more than I'd normally want to pay for Dragonforce.

-Holy crap, rumor is the Offspring might actually tour this year. Here's to hoping they leave the West Coast.

-Go ahead and add Dream Theatre, Anvil and Buckcherry to the lineup for the Download Festival. Is it me, or does that make the lineup worse? It's no Wacken, that's for sure.

-The Jane's Addiction people are confirming that they want to do a tour with Nine Inch Nails. Expect it this summer.

File these under "I can't believe they're still around"

-KISS is entering the studio. I don't have anything else to say about that.

-Napalm Death is releasing a new full length album, with a massive headlining tour to follow. Expect details on tour dates from them soon.

-Earth Crisis is releasing a new album. Huh.

-Stryper is releasing some new music. Sigh. Good Lord, give it up already.
