Splatterhouse Pissing Contest Continues

Last month, I posted a blog about the falling out between Namco and BottleRocket Entertainment over the direction of the "Splatterhouse" remake. Since then, the project is rumored to be in the hands of the team behind "Afro Samurai," which garnered mixed reviews upon its release. Despite that, BottleRocket is still a bit miffed over allegations of "underperformance," and recently released a statement to address those allegations:

Splatterhouse had been in development for over eighteen months and up to having the title taken away from us we had not missed any contractually defined milestones. So either there were no performance issues during that timeframe or Namco's management of the title was inept.

Burn! Really though, I think this is a bad case of sour grapes all around, and there's not enough information to cast Namco as evil or BottleRocket as simply bitter. All I know is, this nonsense better get figured out soon, because I want to play me some fucking "Splatterhouse"!
