See it or Read it: 2015 Ed. #1

In leiu of a "Best of 2014" list, I thought it beneficial a list of upcoming 2015 movies/television and books are similar in vein or the books the film/series is based on to either hold you over until the release or fulfill that need for more of the same. 

 

1.Film: Fear Clinic (January)

            Crazy doctor (Robert Englund) works to cure patients by using bizarre invention that induces and controls hallucinations.

            Dying millionaire, William Reinhardt Deutsch, hires 4 people (3 mediums and 1 doctor of physics) to investigate the possibility of life after death at the infamously haunted Belasco House, popularly known as “Hell House.” The team soon realizes they have to face not only the sinister supernatural presence but its destructive ability as well. 

2. Film: Plan 9 (February - Australia)

Aliens implement “Plan 9” which resurrects the Earth’s dead in an attempt to keep the living from creating a doomsday weapon that will wipe everyone out.

                The starship Argonos, carrying generations of humans, has drifted thoughout the galaxy looking for any sign of life. When they do receive a return signal they approach a nearby planet and the horror of extraterrestrial unknown.

3. Film: Muck (March)

          The evils don’t stay buried in their ancient burial ground that a group of friends disturb.

  • Book: Breed – Owl Goingback

          St. Augustine, Florida is a beautiful town full of tourists and locals alike. Located in town, the Tolomato Cemetery is closed to everyone as it was built on top of an ancient Indian village- but now dead bodies are piling up inside and around the property and what’s buried there is more than local lore.

4. Film: Unfriended (April)

         A group of video chatting friends are terrorized by their dead friend’s account.

         Radio personality Cindy McKay seems to have the perfect, happiest life. What she hides in real life she releases on the dark web and soon is referred to Assassins Inc. to solve her problems. However, nothing is ever as easy as it seems –even when it’s anonymous.

5. Film: Victor Frankenstein (October)

         The classic story of Frankenstein’s monster told from the perspective of his assistant Igor (Daniel Radcliff).

          Michael Fox is a homeless man at the end of his rope until he meets a rich and mysterious surgeon who offers him 2 million dollars for his right arm. However, Fox’s right arm is only the beginning of the monstrosity that he will become.

6. Film: Crimson Peak (October)

         In an attempt to escape the pain of her past and a family tragedy, an author (Jessica Chastain) finds herself at a house that is entity all of its own and torn between what she knows and what she desires.  

          Ed Logan is a regular college student who is recently dumped by the love of his life by a hand written letter. Distraught and heart broken, he beings to find solace in late night walks around the college town and begins to encounter different and dangerous characters that begin to threaten his existence.

7. TV: Wayward Pines (TBA)

         Secret Service agent goes to Wayward Pines looking for 2 missing agents and soon realizes that even he might not make it out alive.

         The first of the Pines trilogy that follows Secret Service agent Ethan Burke who enters Wayward Pines on a recovery mission only to become trapped in the strange town himself. 

8. Film: Krampus (November)

           A demon seeks to punish the wicked just in time for Christmas.

          The Krampus legend is revitalized and reimagined in this anthology featuring twelve different stories of Krampus reigning over the naughty of the winter season with Santa’s approval.  

9. Film: Bone Tomahawk (TBA)

Set in the Wild West, a group of men set out on a rescue mission against cannibalistic cave people.

                Ketchum’s first novel follows a group of friends from NYC vacationing along the coast of Maine for a week and their horrific attempts at survival against a clan of inbred and cannibalistic savages.

10. Film: 31 (TBA)

A group of people are kidnapped before Halloween and taken to Murder World, where they have to play a game called 31-where the goal is to survive against a gang of crazy clowns.

Deacon’s Kill is secluded town in the Catskills Mountains that has fallen prey to a terrible snowstorm. Along with the snow, an old train rolls into town on the tracks that are no longer in service – and the circus troop inside wants to deliver a hell of a show.
