Retro Trailer: "Ginger Snaps" (2000)

"Ginger Snaps" is a quirky, fun werewolf movie. It's certainly no "Twilight", but unfortunately, not every movie can be a masterpiece. All sarcasm aside, the 2000 Canadian film directed by John Fawcett, offers a different take on the whole werewolf flick, as the film uses lycanthropy as a metaphor for puberty. Teen sisters Brigitte and Ginger (Emily Perkins and Katharine Isabelle) are awkward high school outcasts who are obsessed with death. Late one night, Ginger is brutally attacked by a wolf-like creature and suddenly, her body and emotions begin to change in ways that are beyond Ginger's control and it's up to her sister to save her. The success of the film has spawned a sequel, "Ginger Snaps: Unleashed" (2004), and a prequel, "Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning" (2004). You can hear the guys get in touch with their feminine sides, on the "Ginger Snaps" podcast, at the BGH Classic Page.

I like horror movies. That is all.
