Guess What Kind of Game "Zombie Apocalypse" Is

After a run-through of "Wolfenstein 3D" on my Xbox 360 the other day, I had a discussion with a friend about how games that involve killing Nazi's will never get old. I was thinking the same thing about zombie games too, but there have been so many lately that I'm feeling pretty close to zombie game burnout. When I heard about "Zombie Apocalypse," the top-down, "Smash TV" style zombie shooter for XBLA and PSN, I can't say that I was all that excited, but this gameplay footage is kind of neat.

Besides its obvious old school influences, Zombie Apocalypse seems to bite heavily from "Left 4 Dead," be it in the character designs and even some of the weapons like the pipe bomb that hordes of the undead seem to flock to. As someone that loves L4D, those influences aren't necessarily a bad thing, but we'll have to wait and see if the frenetic multiplayer gameplay is enough to make it a standout.
