Folks that keep up with the gaming world know that Midway, home to the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, is in serious financial trouble. Once the rulers of the roost with games like "Killer Instinct," "Rampage," and "NBA Jams" (a personal favorite of mine) as well as the original "Mortal Kombat" games, Midway has faced serious hard times lately with the abysmal flop of "TNA Impact," among others. In hard times, Midway seems to me throwing all of their eggs in one basket by offering Ed Boon, co-creator of the "Mortal Kombat" series, what I would consider to be a pretty exorbitant bonus to keep pumping life into their flagship series.

Oh, did I mention that Midway recently filed for bankruptcy and as of a few days ago was trying to sell off the "Mortal Kombat" property? It seems to be that the folks over there are running around like a bunch of half-human half-reptiles with their spines ripped out, all the while throwing a shitload of cash at the only person that they feel can hold it all together.
I think that it would be a real shame to see "Mortal Kombat" pass off into the night, but I wouldn't be so upset if they dusted off their party hats and gave me another "NBA Jams," just saying.
