I've been a gamer almost all my life. I had an Atari 2600 joystick in my hand from the time I learn to sit up, and I've burned through every gaming platform since. Yes, dear internet - my name is Erin, and I'm a nerd.
And like all nerds, I've dreamed that skills I've acquired blasting baddies, head-shotting noobs, and dominating pixels would some day be humanity's only hope for survival...and then I wake up and go back to filling out TPS reports like the corporate monkey I am.
So you can't begin to imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a web series called "Bite Me" that lives out my dream: Meek, Nerdy gamers become heroes during a zombie outbreak. Here's PROOF that all those hours I spent playing Dead Rising & other video games were not a waste. WHO'S LAUGHING NOW, MOM?
"Three Gamers. One Outbreak. No Continues. Follow three gamers as they find themselves in the midst of a real life zombie outbreak. Relying only on the knowledge and skills they have accrued over years of gaming, these guys will have to drop the controller and pick up anything that they can use as a weapon. If they can survive, these unlikely heroes may just be humanity's best hope of surviving the undead uprising."
I stumbled on this series on accident, scouring the internet for more horror crap. But surprisingly - this isn't crap. It's actually god damn good. The filing is great, the acting is funny, and there's actually "LOL" moments. This is shaping up to be a damn fine web series, and it's already heads & tails above some of the crap released in theaters we were forced to watch this year.
The first two episodes are avaliable for viewing, and I can't wait for more. If you even have a remote interest in gaming, I think you'll really get a kick out of these. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to call in "sick" to work and prepare for the Apocalypse.
