Big 4 Make Disappointing Tour Statement

So, despite promising an update on tour "dates" (plural) as late as yesterday, the Big 4 of Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax have released a statement concerning just a single date.

Just one.

Saturday, April 23rd, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Tickets go on sale this Friday morning at 10, a day earlier if you're a member of the fan club.

I am shocked and singularly disappointed. Listen, I didn't expect them to come up to my town in upstate NY, but I had sure as hell hoped the tour would find its way to New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, or some other city I could reasonably get to. This better not be the end. As a fan, I am a mix of alarmed and enraged.

This is bull. Somehow, I blame Lars.

Speaking to KROQ-FM and reported on MetalUnderground, Lars Ulrich was found to say:

"Listen, we don't wanna cram this down people's throats., we don't wanna sort of overstay the welcome, and we don't know what kind of response there's gonna be to this in America, so we're starting, obviously, without being disrespectful to the rest of the wonderful country...If there is enough demand for it, obviously there's a very strong possibility that there'll be more shows"

Damn it, there better be.
