Scream 3 builds on the meta “Stab” franchise established in Scream 2, giving Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven plenty of fodder for commentary on not just the horror genre but the film industry in general. “A series of murders on the set of a Stab film” may sound like some serious shark jumping, but Williamson and Craven are smart enough to know when enough is enough--and they dial back the comedy at just the right time. There is plenty of slasher goodness to be found in Scream 3--and, of course, plenty of geekery.
It's so perfect to have Cotton get so easily seduced from flattery #TweetWithBGH #Scream3

Love the fire poker a his weapon of choice, it's always been a personal favorite #TweetWithBGH

There's a lot about this opening that is fun: introduces the voice copier, Cotton's fame, that there's been a Stab 2 movie. #TweetWithBGH
— Evan Slead (@EvanSlead) November 7, 2015
I wasn't really feeling the opening for a while but this set up with the voice copier is paying off big time #TweetWithBGH

Neve Campbell didn't want to do #Scream3 and that's why she's in so many scenes alone. Shot her when they had her! #TweetWithBGH

Those bangs…… #TweetWithBGH #Scream3
— Sophie Day (@philliesfemme) November 7, 2015
I already shared this, but I have to again with those Gale Weathers bangs. We were twins! #TweetWithBGH #Scream3 pic.twitter.com/dLvFHwen7i

OK, glad I'm seeing the ponytail because I thought Gale was sporting the world's worst toddler 'do for a minute #TweetWithBGH

Parker Posey as Gale Weathers in the Stab movies is probably in my top 10 favorite things in horror films. No joke. #TweetWithBGH #Scream3
— Evan Slead (@EvanSlead) November 7, 2015
Wasn't Parker Posey originally considered for Monica? #TweetWithBGH

Jay and Silent Bob! Fuck yea! #TweetWithBGH

It gives me joy that they got the same Mr. Prescott for this movie. It's the little things. #TweetWithBGH

HEATHER MATARAZZO is Randy Meeks's sister! This franchise has the best guest stars. And I love Randy's obit cameo #TweetWithBGH

I LOVE how this movie shows how cheap MTV Music Video Awards are. #TweetWithBGH #Scream3
— Evan Slead (@EvanSlead) November 7, 2015
"35 playing a 21 year old" well, except for Grease, that's mostly the opposite of how Hollywood works #TweetWithBGH
— S. G. Cherryhomes (@GreenSpe) November 7, 2015
Fun that #Scream3's final script includes a line about rewrites. The script was rewritten several times due to Internet leaks. #TweetWithBGH
— Evan Slead (@EvanSlead) November 7, 2015
The conceit of this movie - actors being killed in order of their characters - is great, though it isn't always executed well #TweetWithBGH

Roman Bridger = Roman Polanski. Was told to make Rosemary's Baby (horror) before the movie he really wanted. #TweetWithBGH #Scream3

There is no better celeb than Carrie Fisher to play "herself" in a seedy faux-tell all role #TweetWithBGH

I love that Sidney has to descend upon her old house through the movie studio. So eerie. #TweetWithBGH #Scream3

Creepiest dead mom scene BY. FAR. #TweetWithBGH

Boogeyman = Michael Myers #Halloween #theshape #Scream3 #TweetWithBGH

Definitely a callback to Nightmare on Elm Street with that bloody sack over the dead person. Very dreamlike. #TweetWithBGH #Scream3

Great choice to have Lance Hendrickson play the producer. He's got those horror roots! #TweetWithBGH #Scream3

I would watch a whole horror movie shot in that creepy basement #TweetWithBGH
— Sophie Day (@philliesfemme) November 7, 2015
"Doorway at the top of stairs" shots can get old, it's great how Craven is making them so obviously a nod to 70s/80s horror #TweetWithBGH
— S. G. Cherryhomes (@GreenSpe) November 7, 2015
Fake Gail calling for Dewey in a soundproof room is so cool! Scream 2 callback! #TweetWithBGH
— Sophie Day (@philliesfemme) November 7, 2015
It's amazing how the killers in Scream are essentially screenwriters, Scream 2 they're actors, and #Scream3 it's the director. #TweetWithBGH
— Evan Slead (@EvanSlead) November 7, 2015
Sydney is one of my top 3 final girls. For sure. #TweetWithBGH
— Sophie Day (@philliesfemme) November 7, 2015
The connection between Syd and Roman reminds me of Laurie and Michael in H20 and I love it #TweetWithBGH
— Sophie Day (@philliesfemme) November 7, 2015
Fun fact: the original killer was Angelina Tyler in cahoots with Roman. She was his lover and was to be a symbol of Maureen. #TweetWithBGH
