The Living Dead Invade the Upper Crust in the "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" Trailer

Movie fans rejoice! The new trailer Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has announced an end to one of our greatest hardships. No longer must we choose between watching a carnage-filled zombie romp and a period drama inspired by a classic novel. Welcome to a world where one movie is capable of scratching each of those itches.

The film’s teaser trailer spends about half of its run time laying on the high society charm via carefully-choreographed dances, fancy hats and corsets. However, this is all a bit of playful misdirection to help its big reveal – the zombies – make an even greater impact. Once the gnarled, rotted dead show up, spinning kicks replace slow, demure dancing and edged weapons and pistols become essential tools of the trade for social-climbing, butt-kicking heroines.

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies is based on the bestselling Jane Austen-mash-up novel by Seth Grahame Smith, whose work was also the basis for 2012’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was adapted and directed by Burr Smith. Lily James, Matt Smith, Lena Headey and Charles Dance headline the cast. You can catch it in theaters on February 5, 2016, just in time for a romantic/gory Valentine’s Day.
