Snapshot: "Mama" (2013)

Supernatural horror film "Mama" is one of the films I'm looking forward to checking out when it is released later this month. One reason I'm looking forward to it? I'm a sucker for creepy ghost stories and this one is no exception. Here's the synopsis:

The day their father killed their mother, sisters Victoria and Lilly vanished near their suburban neighborhood. For five long years, their Uncle Lucas and his girlfriend, Annabel, have been madly searching for them. But when, incredibly, the kids are found alive in a decrepit cabin, the couple wonders if the girls are the only guests they have welcomed into their home. It becomes apparent that the girls are being haunted by a ghostly woman they believe to be their mother.

Another reason I'm looking forward to it? The lovely and talented Jessica Chastain sporting a short pixie haircut and punk rock style (see above snapshot). Chastain stars as Annabel, a bass player in a punk rock band and suddenly, the reluctant caretaker of two young girls who’ve been fending for themselves after being missing for five years. Not your typical horror movie heroine, and I am quite interested to see how it plays out. "Mama" hits theaters January 18, 2013.

I like horror movies. That is all.
