"Smash Cut", More Pornstars in Horror

If there's a combo for a horror movie that will pretty much guarantee every fan is going to watch it, I would say it’s put a cult icon on screen with a porn star. That’s just putting two and two together, people. Well the producers behind “Smash Cut” are clearly aware of this formula, as they have put David Hess, star of “The Last House on the Left” and “Swamp Thing” alongside the star of “Finger Licking Good: Volume 5” and “House of Ass 3”, Sasha Grey.

Sounds great, doesn’t it? Well just as icing on the cake they’ve also got Herschell Gordon Lewis, legendary director who helmed cult classics such as “The Wizard of Gore” and “Two Thousand Maniacs!”, to not only introduce the trailer you see below but also appear in the film. They’ve also resurrected the corpse of Charlton Heston to star as the lovable sidekick with a heart of gold. Ok that last one was a lie but you get the point.

From the trailer this looks somewhere between a grindhouse flick and a Troma production. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though. Not to mention how fun it is to see a 66 year old Hess running around killing people with a 20 year old porn star. This is why the German’s invented film my friends.

Sasha Grey is the next in a long line of porn stars who have made the push into films where they don’t get double teamed. Unlike many of her predecessors though she seems to have broken out from the usual B-movie fodder by landing the lead roll in the 2009 Steven Soderbergh film “Girlfriend Experience”. Grey will play Chelsea, a high-end call girl in Manhattan who seems to have her life under control on the outside.

Oh IMDB, you’re so playful. Then again based on the description I can’t 100% guarantee she won’t end up getting double teamed. Oh the Google report is going to be a mess this week.
