Scout encounters zombie cat

"Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse" Red-Band Trailer May Earn You a Merit Badge

In the new red band trailer for Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, a pair of dorky high schoolers and their dorkier other friend are sidetracked on their way to what promises to be the party of their young lives. Picture Superbad, only instead of goofball cops and Uncle Eddie from Grounded for Life, it’s zombies doing the sidetracking.

As the title indicates, our leads are three boy scouts who face an onslaught of interesting zombies, including undead strippers, cats and scout masters. In order to survive, they must rely on their boy-scout know-how and the help of a shotgun-wielding cocktail waitress. In the trailer alone, characters explode, heads are lopped off, and geysers of blood erupt from head wounds. In case there were any questions about the tone the movie, there's some zombie nudity at the end. Why not?

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse was directed and co-written by Christopher B. Landon, who penned four films in the Paranormal Activity franchise and also directed the spinoff, The Marked Ones. His co-writers, Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki, are probably best – and really only – known for writing the Martin Lawrence vehicle College Road Trip. The film stars Halston Sage, Tye Sheridan and Patrick Schwarzenegger (Arnie’s son) and will hit theaters on Oct. 30.
