Retro Poster: "Village of the Damned" (1960)

Some of my favorite horror movie poster designs show illustrations from the movie, giving the viewer a glimpse of what they will see upon actually heading out to the theater and viewing the entire film. The poster design for the 1960 movie "Village of the Damned" shows imagery from the movie of the blond haired, glowing eyed children alongside bright, contrasting colors and a great tag line. For those who have not seen the film, it's a creepy little flick about a small countryside town in England that is turned upside down when after a mysterious sleep falls upon the town and every woman of childbearing age wakes up pregnant with children. The children from these pregnancies all grow very fast, they all have blond hair and an eerie, penetrating gaze that make people do things they're no willing to do. Knowing this plot, the tag line ominously advising the viewer to

beware the stare that will paralyze the will of the world.

is truly chilling.
