great discussion this week
I was beginning to wonder if you guys were simply ignoring that comment but this episode definitely answers my question. You had me at Shenanigans.
I was aware that Prom Night was aimed at a very specific target audience. I'm afraid that the horror genre is moving in the wrong direction. I know it makes sense from a business standpoint and I know that there really isn't a a lot that we can do. Let's face it, internet buzz doesn't really amount to a whole hell of a lot. The studios are going to make decisions based on box office returns.
I have begrudgingly accepted the fact that these films will continue. I don't like it, but I accept it. I also realize that horror websites cover these films because they are mainstream. I suppose there are lots of sites that are devoted to the more extreme subgenres of the horror market. I think that you guys are doing a great job of trying to maintain a balanced and objective view of mainstream horror. I know that you have to watch a lot of shite but I also agree, after listening to the podcast, that you are providing a service for horror fans.
I'll keep listening as long as you keep watching. Excuse me, I need to go and get fitted for my Prom tux.
Hugs & kisses,
T Van
Haha, thanks man. Ya, this
Haha, thanks man. Ya, this week's episode was sort of heavy at times. Glad to hear that we're accomplishing what we're trying too. Your comment had me thinking from the moment I read it, but I just wanted to save it for the show.
Hugs and kisses,

Looking back on it it's
Looking back on it it's pretty remarkable how much I let this film get to me. In the course of a month I watched one of the best horror films of the year in Inside and one of the worse, if not THE worst, in Prom Night. I think the fact that we tackled this film and it nearly killed us shows how strongly we feel about horror films. I think I even surprised myself a little bit.
