In the trailer for Freaks of Nature, the citizens of a small town react to an alien invasion pretty much as you would expect: they freak right out. The thing is, we're not talking about an ordinary citizenry. In addition to the human populace, this small town also happens to be home to vampires and zombies. When all three of those groups collectively lose it, well, that is a whole special kind of chaos.
According to the film’s official synopsis, the town of Dillford’s sizable populations of vampires, humans and zombies have settled into a comfortable pecking order. The vampires are at the top, the zombies are at the bottom and humans are right smack in the middle. This part isn’t really clear in the trailer. What is clear is that, once the aliens show up, everything falls apart and Dillford is plunged into a fun, blood-soaked and highly weird civil war. In the madness, three teenagers – one human, one vamp and one zombie – team up to try to fend off the aliens and get things back to normal, for lack of a better word, in Dillford.
