As fans of horror movies, we all know one of the things that can elevate a film is the soundtrack. Early horror movies, like “Nosferatu”, relied solely on music to capture the mood of pure terror, and from then on music has been an integral part of building the suspense we feed off. “Psycho” wouldn't be the same without the legendary string arrangement, nor would countless other horror classics. Music and horror are a perfect marriage, and we're happy to help announce a new project that melds these two arts.
Waxwork Records is proud to announce the release of the soundtrack to the H.P. Lovecraft inspired horror classic, “Re-Animator,” in a deluxe vinyl package. From the press release:
Re-Animator will be a limited release that guarantees buyers the LP on green 180 gram vinyl. There will be a limited number of variant glow-in-the-dark vinyl that will be randomly inserted. Re-Animator will go on sale July, 1st 2013.
The score was composed and conducted by Richard Band and performed by the Rome Philharmonic Orchestra. The soundtrack has been re-mastered specifically for vinyl, and the full LP package (front and back cover, record sleeve, and center A-side B-side labels) will feature artwork from Gary Pullin (Ghoulish Gary). You can also expect a massive poster of the cover art. Included in the package will be notes from the composer and director giving insight and information on the score and film. The record sleeve will include original photographs from the 1985 recording sessions in Rome, Italy. The score is a masterful work that fans of horror and sci-fi have acknowledged and loved for nearly three decades.
