So I was lounging around today before going to work and I noticed there was a "Burn Notice" marathon on the USA channel. I haven't thought about the show in a while, but I'm actually pretty excited because season 2 debuts tonight.
Am I the only one who has seen this? Most likely, b/c every time I post about it nobody seems to know what the hell I'm talking about. It basically stars the guy from "Book of Shadows" as a former spy who has been "burned", which means the CIA has cut him loose and dumped his sorry ass off in sunny Miami.
While there, he has to enlist the help of his retired Agent and friend (/pimp) Bruce Campbell, in order to pull off small heists and jobs to support himself. The overarching story of the series involves him trying to find out why he got "burned", since apparently he hadn't done anything wrong.
You can read the Wiki here and get caught up if you like, but the beauty of the show is that it's not really necessary. Even though it can be violent at times and deals with tense situations, it's really a pretty lighthearted affair. Think "Pacific Blue" mixed with "24" and you get a pretty good idea of what I'm talking about.
Anyways, it's really fun to watch Campbell ham it up as what is essentially the guy he plays in those Old Spice commercials come to life. It's the kind of job he's deserved for a while and you can tell he's having a hell of a time shooting it.
The shooting itself is done a few hours South of me in beautiful Miami, Florida. As a relatively new Florida resident, it's just nice to hear of something positive happening down here as opposed to, you know, the usual:
