American Horror Story: Murder House (Episode 3)
This week's episode of "American Horror Story" brought us a lot of backstory regarding the original owners of the house, The Montgomery's, as well as the nature of the relationship between Moira and Constance. Although we learned a lot about the character's surrounding the house and more about the house as a character itself, i felt like we were lacking a lot of the present day action that the previous two episodes were so full of. That being said, I'm still enjoying myself quite a bit. So here's my top three points of interest from this week's episode:
1. Moira, Moira, Moira. So this episode we learned a lot about Moira. We learned that she is, in fact, a ghost and that she was shot in the eye by Constance. We also learned that her spirit and her body are bound to the house. Now, does Moira need somebody to find her body in order for her spirit to be free? When she had her breakdown in front of Constance she cried that she wanted to go home and she wanted to see her mom. Which obviously raises the question of who is Moira's mother and when will we meet her, if we haven't already.
2. Larry Harvey. The Burn Victim. Is he real? Is he a figment of Ben's imagination? Is he a ghost? Did he really kill Hayden? What the hell is going on??
3. Living in a haunted house for a whole season (at least). So we learn this week all the millions of reasons that the Harmon's will be forced to stay in the house. Among the top reasons, we learn that all their finances are tied up in bad investments, the cross country move and in the purchase of the home. We also learn that according to the realtor, the housing market is tanking plus the fact that no one else will buy it because of it's dark past. Another thing we learn, as if we haven't known this already, is that their daughter Violet is a brat. According to Violet, "the house has soul" and she will run away if the Harmon's sell the house. If I were them, I'd say buhbye to their little brat and try to escape with what's left of their sanity and their (possible) unborn demon baby. I will admit that I do think the writer's did a good job of making viewers believe that an immediate move is just not possible at this time. But seriously, as things begin to escalate how realistic will it be to continue living in a home thats destroying their family?
After seeing the previews for next week's episode, I must admit that I am pretty damn excited for the Halloween themed episode. Can't wait to see what happens. I'm guessing that a murder house on Halloween is never a good combination. Here's a preview of next weeks episode:
