Apparently I've been on an Eddie Furlong kick lately, because "The Visitation" is like the third movie I've watched in the past month with him in it. The film, which is based on the novel of the same name by Frank Peretti, takes place in the small town of Antioch. When miracles begin happening at the hands of Brandon Nichols, who claims to be Jesus Christ, the whole town gets caught up in the hype and come together to worship Brandon and his disciples. An ex-minister who lost his faith when his wife was brutally murdered teams up with a local veterinarian to conduct an investigation on the events taking place and Brandon's true identity. Normally I pass on these types of religious thrillers, but I was pleasantly surprised with "The Visitation." Edward Furlong delivers a powerful performance as Brandon and supporting actors Martin Donovan, Randy Travis and Kelly Lynch shine as well. It's worth a look.
