Set in the future on a distant planet, Avatar spins a simple little parable about greedy colonizers (that would be mankind) messing up the lush tribal world of Pandora. A paraplegic Marine named Jake (Sam Worthington) acts through a 9-foot-tall avatar that allows him to roam the planet and pass as one of the Na'vi, the blue-skinned, large-eyed native people who would very much like to live their peaceful lives without the interference of the visitors. Although he's supposed to be gathering intel for the badass general (Stephen Lang) who'd like to lay waste to the planet and its inhabitants, Jake naturally begins to take a liking to the Na'vi, especially the feisty Neytiri (Zoë Saldana, whose entire performance, recorded by Cameron's complicated motion-capture system, exists as a digitally rendered Na'vi).

Have you been living in a cave? Otherwise, I'm going to assume you know what "Avatar" is. This is the non 3D flavor but really, how well is Cameron's 3D going to work at home anyways?

Bizarre tale of freakish experiments occurring within a creepy clinic at the University of Liverpool. A troubled young American woman travels to England to put the pieces of her shattered past back together and unwittingly ravels a nightmarish secret at the school.

Freakish experiments performed by amateur scientists are always fun! Let's just hope that the movie is written better than their plot synopsis!

This documentary beautifully captures the triumphs and tragedies of Washington, DC's pioneering television host, Dick Dyszel. Beginning in the 1970's, Dick was instrumental in forging thoughts of fantasy and humor in the minds of his young fans by living on-screen personas such as Captain 20, Bozo and the late-night Creature Feature host, Count Gore. Though passionate about his work, his playful and often irreverent attitude captured on-set is what still resonates. This documentary pulls from the actual archival broadcasts, letting viewers sink back into memories of a life before cell phones and the internet.

Count Gore De Vol is one of the longest working horror hosts out there and from what I saw at Horrorhound Weekend, he's a pretty swell guy all around. Even if you've never seen the man, this is a great opportunity to see the behind the scenes aspects of creating yourself into the ultimate horror host.

"Fraternity Massacre" is set in an amusement park as so many good horror films are. It is good fun as a spoof of the horror genre and very funny to boot. Taking place on Hell Night staged at Hell Island (Mud Island near Memphis), the plot concerns Jack (Tyler Farrell) a gay pledge who has kept his sexuality a secret from all except his boyfriend, a closeted fraternity member. On his Hell Night, Jack has a lot to worry about---the hazing that will come from the frat brothers and the fact that there is clown bent on murder on the loose. Together with this is the fact that Jack is also in the closet.

We've never had 'gay horror' show up on the Bargain Bin, but equal opportunity to everybody! This is becoming a pretty large sub-genre in the horror world, so have at it!

A young woman wakes up in a psychiatric hospital with no idea of who she is or how she got there. As she undergoes a psychological evaluation, she begins to put the missing pieces of her life together she discovers the shocking truth.

How we get from a hiking trip to a young woman in a nut house, I don't know. I'd bet money that the 'shocking truth' is her love of granola and North Face fleece jackets.

This is "Misery" with a young pretty cast. Replace Kathy Bates with Mischa Barton and you have yourself a movie. Surprisingly, it didn't turn out so bad!

My mom always said to never judge a book by its cover, but look at that cover! If that doesn't scream 'Twilight Knock Off', I don't know what does.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like John likes to unwind in a womans dress and a sassy pair of pumps after work. If I was John and the neighbors started nosing around after a train wreck, I'd tell them to go to hell too.

When their computer hacker friend accidentally channels a mysterious wireless signal, a group of co-eds rally to stop a terrifying evil from taking over the world.

"Pulse" has already flopped horribly and spawned two sequels, but this it's first time on Blu-ray. If you need an HD Kristen Bell fix, now's your chance I suppose.

Cautionary tale features a fictionalized and highly exaggerated take on the use of marijuana. A trio of drug dealers lead innocent teenagers to become addicted to "reefer" cigarettes by holding wild parties with jazz music.

You better watch this so you know what Marijuana is going to do to your future children. Unless you're already under the drugs nasty spell you dirty dirty hippie!

Mixing sorority babes and sleep-overs is a great thing. Do you really need anything more? What about Reggie Bannister in a starring role and a very poorly aged Linnea Quigley?

Peter Jackson has already proven that he knows how to scare the crap of us. "The Lovely Bones" looks like a very well shot film and a nice little aside from Jackson's typical fare.

Gruesome and grisly murders are our entry point into the psyche of the Aswang of Quezon City. More a meditation on the workings of a disturbed mind than a detective thriller, it nonetheless shows us a cat and mouse mind game. We watch and squirm in terror as the Pinoy vampire strikes again and again.

If I was a vampire named "Asswang", you can be damn sure I'd be biting people too.
