When I was in college I had a roommate who would take great joy in frightening the crap out of me. He would hide somewhere in our apartment then jump out screaming which would make me almost wet myself. The worst part was he wouldn’t just do this as soon as I got home from class, he would wait for me to find him. Sometimes he would be in my closet for a half hour before I opened the door and found him. Needless to say I spent a large chunk of my time in college petrified that someone was watching me.
Now that fear is back thanks to the movie “Eyeborgs”, whose trailer you can view below.
Richard Clabaugh, who also directed the SciFi hit “Python” is credited for both writing and directing “Eyeborgs”. He’s also credited as playing “himself” in the 1997 documentary "Trekkies", so I guess he’s earned his nerd badge.
The whole film has a very “1984” feel to it. Cameras set up by the government that watch your every move isn’t exactly a new idea but having those cameras running around killing people is. Of course they do throw in the typical “cyber punk” to save the day so I have my concerns about the film.
No US release date has been scheduled yet but the it did sell out theaters recently at the International SciFi Film Festival in London so I assume we’ll be seeing this one shortly here in the states.
