'Goon City' is Pixel Art Crack for Nerds

Spottting references to our favorite movies and games is one of the many pleasures of being an ultra-nerd. As such "Goon City," a collaborative pixel-art map constructed by the 'goons' from the Something Awful Forums is enough to send any film or video game nerd into sensory overload. Buried within the Google Map style overlay is hundreds if not thousands of pixely film game and pop culture references that range from straightforward to downright ridiculous (Death Star Casino?). As far as horror is concerned, I was able to pick out things from "Jaws," "Tremors," "Night of the Living Dead," and "Godzilla," as well as the games "Silent Hill" and "Bioshock" in only 10 minutes of viewing.

It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but it's sure a great way to kill a couple 2...3...60 minutes trying to pick out every nod that you can. If you have the time to kill, take a stroll through Goon City and you won't be disappointed. I'm sure you'll find tons of stuff that I didn't!
