The Nuclear Edge--Art show?

So last weekend, my friend asked me if I would volunteer to help out his charity art auction. Being the decent guy that I am, I gladly told him I would. So there I was, helping set up, having a good time, marveling at the wonder that is a chocolate fountain, when a few pieces of art in my hand caught my eye.

(By the way, me at an art show is a huge mismatch. Still, it was great to be able to help out.)

Anyway, I got talking to Dan, the artist, and we discussed how he came up with his art, which he described roughly as follows:

"Most of it I come up with having a beer at 3 AM watching cartoons when I should be doing something else. But people who buy art don't want to hear that, so I come up with something about vengeful pathos."

That type of honestly convinced me to help out, especially being a charity auction and all, so I bought the piece you see above.

If you have a minute, you can scope out Dan's work here, or on his Myspace page here.

Anyway, he's a cool guy (and huge horror fan) just trying to make it as an artist, so I thought I'd pass it along. Enjoy.

Other notes:
It's been a while since I've gotten my haircut. A co-worker of mine told me I'm starting to look like the guy from Eraserhead. Maybe I should get it clipped a little.

Don't forget to get your free Dr. Pepper this Sunday!
