Creepy doll baby from Over Your Dead Body trailer

Nightmarish Trailer for Takashi Miike's Latest, "Over Your Dead Body"

Beds feature prominently in the trailer for Over Your Dead Body, the latest from Audition director Takashi Miike. It contains multiple shots of people doing the normal things people do in beds like sleeping, as well as less average things like waking up in mortal terror and bleeding from the head. There are also a few other, way less average, unspeakable things going on. The location is certainly appropriate given the film’s dreamlike atmosphere. Unfortunately for the characters, the nightmares don’t end when the alarm clock sounds.

The trailer for Over Your Dead Body is big on showcasing the film’s surreal qualities and light on plot points. Factoring in what can be found in the film’s official plot synopsis, the movie revolves around a famous actress who uses her pull to get her boyfriend cast opposite her in a play about a legendary ghost story and an abusive relationship. Their own relationship may not be on the most stable ground either, and soon the lines between what’s real and what exists within the world of play begin to vanish. It’s this no man’s land between reality and imagination that the movie seems intent on exploring.

Also highlighted in the trailer? A creepy, crying doll which may or may not be/have been a real boy. The film will be coming to Blu-Ray/DVD on Jan. 5. With this and the Lauren Cohan-starring The Boy also coming out, it looks like you won’t be able to turn a corner without bumping into an nightmare doll-child come the new year.
