New "Gamer" Trailer

I’m still on the fence about the film “Gamer” which hits theaters on September 4th. While I am all for a movie where you can sit back and watch crap blow up without having to think I can’t ignore the similarities to films like “Death Race” and “Running Man”. On top of that I am a big fan of Michael C. Hall after watching “Dexter” and “Six Feet Under” but his accent in this movie makes me want to punch him in the face.

No matter what I’m sure I’ll end up seeing the film and my guess after watching the latest trailer is that I’ll probably end up liking it. For those of you not familiar with “Gamer” yet here’s a rough breakdown.

Set in a future-world where humans can control other humans in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments, a star player (Butler) from a game called "Slayers" looks to regain his independence while taking down the game's mastermind

So the movie does have a few original elements to it but I‘m still not sure it will be enough to make it stand out. We’ll find out in a couple weeks when the film finally hits theaters. Until then you can enjoy the latest trailer below.
