Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe?!

I've been waiting to post this until it was "confirmed," and thanks to this proof from GamesRadar, Mortal Kombat Vs DC Univerise is in fact happening, and there's a teaser trailer! Now, I can never claim that Sub Zero vs Batman doesn't elicit a major question mark over my head, but I also can't say that this doesn't create a tremendous opportunity.

In a way, the Mortal Kombat franchise has gone the way of most slashers. The first two games were much like Halloween in that they were both great standalone offerings, and the second one resembled the first one "on steroids." There is also a parallel when you consider snafus like Mortal Kombat 4 and the short-lived MK: Mythologies games. The last game, "Armageddon," was a pretty fitting farewell to the games more trivial characters (Mokap anyone?) and actually was a hell of a lot of fun to play. Eric and I actually played it pretty solidly for a time until he got sick of me kicking his ass with my custom MK luchador.

Now that MK has gone the way of the good and bad of the sequel realm, there is only one logical route for a slasher game/movie to take, VERSUS! Now what I'd really like to see is see an MK Vs. HORROR LEGENDS game where Freddy can be slashing with Baraka, and Ash can be trading boomstick blasts with Stryker. Midway can you hear me?!
