Heffalumps give me the Woozles

Our discussion about "Something Wicked This Way Comes" this weekend really got me thinking about some of the strong, subtly disturbing images that I've retained from my childhood.

The first image that I came upon was that of the "Heffalumps and Woozles" bit from The New Adventures of Winnie The Pooh that featured an oddly intoxicating incantation about the elephant-esque shapeshifting creatures, who are sometimes disgustingly drenched in honey:

After re-watching the old favorite and re-living the horror, I realized that bits of my memory of the segment were missing, until I rediscovered the missing link: "Pink Elephants on Parade" from Dumbo

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that although the people that came up with the 'Pooh bit seem more than a little inspired by the "Pink elephants", they both had a pretty solid impact on the soon-to-be disturbed youth caught in their wake. I mean, Elephants are mysterious and intimidating to begin with, so why not drop some acid, clear a bong or two, and throw some poka dots on them!

What were some animated moments from your childhood that gave you the shit-shivers? Consider it free therapy!
