Epiphany: Shia LaBeouf

First, apologies to Louis Fowler, I know this has sort of been his territory, but I thought it was important enough to share.

I was watching an episode of 'Freaks and Geeks' last night (still the best thing Judd Apatow has ever done) and one of the characters is railing against an unfunny school mascot. When the Norseman mascot is unmasked it is none other than a baby-faced Shia LaBeouf.

Of course it was Shia LaBeouf! This forgotten TV moment was in fact a harbinger of dark days to come for blockbuster heroes. Wimpus Flaccidus, the anti-John McClane, graduate of the look-at-how-cute-I-think-I-am school of acting. No moniker I could come up with says it any better than "The unfunny mascot". Little did any one suspect this humorless Viking would usher in the Gotterdammerung of decent leading men.

This is before mentioning the flagrant misspelling of 'beef'; I can't even face what dark cinematic eras that might portend.
