Your eyes do not decieve you. Wes Craven has announced the release date of the remake of "Last House on the Left" on TWITTER. Many of you are followers of me (@exploder98), as well as Bloody Good Horror(@bghorror), but if you were a follower of the almighty @wescraven at around 2:50PM EST, you heard the news straight from the horse's mouth:
Just heard from Universal, release date for THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is Friday, March 13, 2009!
To me, the news itself is interesting, but I'm more stoked about the delivery. Twitter has definitely broken through the mainstream of late, and Craven is setting a precedent for "transparency" in the horror news world. That may sound overblown, but ask the folks at Horror Hound or anyone that writes for a horror mag/site about some of the red-tape bullshit that surrounds horror "scoops" and announcements.
For those of you who've been in the dark for the past few months, I've included the trailer of the remake. Some folks aren't nearly as excited about this film as I am, but I wasn't a huge fan of the original, so I'm ready for whatever new direction they go in.
