"Left 4 Dead 2" DLC Will Bring Back Old Friends

One of the major laments of "Left 4 Dead 2" (mostly before its release) that was that besides a very far-away cameo, the survivors from the original game were absent from the sequel. Come the spring, that problem will be taken care of as Valve has announced that the first DLC for the critically acclaimed sequel to the critically acclaimed first person Zombie shootout will include the original iconic survivors and some other goodies as well:

"Left 4 Dead 2" Trailer

Oh it's on people! The trailer for "Left 4 Dead 2" has hit the intertubes and it's 100% bonerz, whatever that means. This video, which is just shy of 3 minutes, doesn't appear to show any actual gameplay but it does lead me to believe that there will be a much richer story mode in the second outing. Although the primary strength of the series is multiplayer, you can only get your ass kicked by 15 year olds online for so long before you start to feel like less of a man.

Left 4 Dead 2 "Scavenge" Mode Announced

In addition to the melee weapons and the new infected classes and types, fans of "Left 4 Dead" were also promised a new mode (or two?) in the sequel. The infected cat was let out of the bag today with the announcement of "Scavenge" mode, which works a bit like a one sided version of the Capture the Flag concept that's so popular in multiplayer games.

"Left 4 Dead 2" - Rumble in the Swamp Video

G4's X-Play recently released a new preview of "Left 4 Dead 2" and to be honest; it looks pretty damn good. Showcasing the four new characters, new melee weapon combat and the swamp level from one of the five new campaigns, it looks like a good change of pace.

Give it a watch, share your thoughts! Myself? I've got my eye on Coach with a Frying Pan and that nifty Uzi with a silencer!

Spray Some Blood with L4D2's Melee Weapons

One of the things that was missing from the original "Left 4 Dead" was melee weapons. Sure, guns, Molotov cocktails, and pipe bombs are cool, but do you really think that those things would be as easily at your disposal when the zombie apocalypse comes? Thankfully, the omission is being rectified in "Left 4 Dead 2," and this off-screen video from the floor of this week's San Diego Comicon shows just how fun (and bloody!) these new additions can be:

Does the "Left 4 Dead 2" Boycott Matter?

For days, I've been reading various posts about the apparent 'boycott' of "Left 4 Dead 2," the recently announced sequel to Valve's popular zombie blasting FPS. Although I was positive about the news, throngs of angry fans voiced their opinions to the contrary. Primarily, they were angry about the fact that Valve had promised to continually provide additional content for the original "Left 4 Dead," something that they are known for as a publisher.

Left 4 Dead 2 Announced

This week is the kick off of E3, the mecca of the video game industry. Microsoft kicked off the event with their press conference filled with their new game announcements. The biggest for horror fans is the announcement of Left 4 Dead 2 due Nov. 17th 2009, and the new full trailer, which you can check out below.
