Concert Review: GWAR, DevilDriver, Cancer Bats

It was, as Billy Joel famously sang, a pretty good crowd for a Saturday. Worcester, Massachusetts was enjoying the throes of the Rock and Shock Festival, a multi day event that had come down to this: Legacy of Disorder, Cancer Bats, DevilDriver and naturally, GWAR. Who else would be appropriate for such an occasion but those undisputed lords of shock and awe?

Concert Review - Danzig

It seemed somehow appropriate that a crowd had gathered for a Danzig show on what Edward Bulwer-Lytton once called "a dark and stormy night." As the winds howled and raged and rain pounded upon gathered concertgoers awaiting admittance, those inside were greeted by the cloaked vestiges of Danzig's staging.

Confessions From the Road

We've all been to concerts, seen the splendor of our favorite bands, and walked home happy. Behind those pressed, clean and/or theatrical experiences, there lives an entire society of road crews, bus drivers, long hours, bad food, managers, technicians and venue staff who make all that possible. Pedro Rodriguez just got off the road, and is heading back out in November for another grueling experience. In the meantime, I got to share some words with him about touring, Dimebag Darrell, horror movies and venues across our great country.
