2016's "Blood Feast" is the Remake that No One Asked For (Trailer)

In 1963 Herschell Gordon Lewis invented the splatter flick with release of the film Blood Feast. In 2016 it’s being remade for some reason. The original tells the story of an immigrant from Egypt who finds himself drawn to Ishtar and begins making sacrifices with the gleeful madcap carnage that Lewis has since become famous for.

Let’s take a look at why we’ve bother to dust off and update this old sarcophagus:

We can see that the splatter here is in full effect at least in the trailer, making certain it’s a focal point with the sort of quick flash cuts and screeching noises that have become a staple of films that are desperately attempting to ratchet up the terror and hide the acting flaws and poor dialogue. Which leaves the question—why bother making this film in 2016?  The answer is bloodshed, raw meat and carnage all of which this preview has plenty of and if you’re a gore hound you can only hope this film pays off what it promises in this preview.
