"2012:" Embrace the Glorioussness

When are we all finally going to admit it to ourselves: the trailers for "2012" are fucking sweet.

While peeping "Zombieland" this weekend, I was overjoyed to be treated to a new, or at least new to me, trailer for the forthcoming Roland Emmerich shitstorm. To be totally honest (because that is what we are doing here, no?), I am no lover of Mr. Emmerich's work, but this time he's literally just saying to us, "Fuck it, we're not even going to bother making a sensible narrative. We're just going to destroy the entire goddamn planet!" In the spirit of honesty, I'll admit that I find this frankness refreshing.

We know the movie is going to be bad, Roland, so thank you for not trying to bullshit us. We're looking for disaster, and you're going to bring the disaster. For that, I thank you.

This little spoof is old (by internet standards), but I was reminded of it again this weekend. The joke here still works, but I think we all need to just admit that we're just a little excited to witness this disaster, and that we're all going to love hating it.
